Chad Ochocinco Johnson Headed to New England Patriots: A Perfect Fit
Chad Ochocinco Johnson has been dropping hints all day on Twitter regarding a potential trade to the New England Patriots that is in the works. What a glorious trade it could be for Patriots fans.
Albert Haynesworth may not be the only new arrival in New England this week.
Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is dropping hints that he’ll be a Patriot. And he’s dropping the hints in a most unusual way.
James Shively (@JC_Shively) of Cincinnati has a Twitter page. Earlier today, he complained about persistent rumors and reports that Ochocinco will be cut.
Wrote Shively: “So much 4 @ochocinco getting cut by the #Bengals… Media dont know squat. Always tryin 2 stir drama up.”
Shively received a “direct message” from Ochocinco. Said Ochocinco: “Media knows nothing but I’m going to enjoy clam chowder.” (We’ve seen the screen shot of the message.)
A-MAZING. What a day this could end up being for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
First, they get bruising defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, now news is spreading that a deal is in place for Cincinnati Bengals' all-pro receiver Chad Ochocinco (Johnson).
This could very well be the biggest day of free agency in New England ever.
Already loaded at wide receiver, the Patriots would add the deep threat they have long coveted since the day Randy Moss departed. With Ocho, Tom Brady would have a remarkably deep stable of receivers to choose from. He has Wes Welker and Deion Branch underneath. Rob Gronkowski in the middle. Ocho and Aaron Hernandez deep. Danny Woodhead out of the backfield.
What a freaking beast this offense can turn into.
A year after throwing a hard-to-comprehend 36 touchdowns to just four interceptions, Tom Brady could up the ante this season.
Is a 50 touchdown season once again within reach? Maybe not, but that is only because the Patriots finally have running backs that can score, unlike 2007.
But could this be another MVP year for a quarterback who is already considered one of the best ever?
Welcome back to heaven, Patriots fans.
