Manchester City Transfer Rumor: Is Sergio Aguero in Manchester Already?
Reports in the Spanish press relayed by Sports News Ireland suggest that Atletico Madrid's highly-rated Argentinian forward Sergio Aguero is flying into Manchester this week to finalise personal terms with Manchester City in a deal which could be worth more than £30 million ($49.2 million)
The son-of-law of world football legend Diego Maradona, Aguero, 23, has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid on several occasions but City seem to be willing to part with the transfer fee required, especially after watching the diminutive forward score three goals in this this month's Copa America for his country.
Some experts commented on the potential impact Carlos Tevez's failed transfer from City to Brazilian side Corinthians could have on Aguero's arrival, but City, owned by billionaire Sheikh Mansour, have no financial concerns and are trying to build a team capable of winning the Premier League and wresting bragging rights from rivals Manchester United.
If they did manage to pair up Aguero, who has scored 74 La Liga goals from 175 appearances, with talismanic compatriot Tevez for just one season, it may be enough to complete the first stage of their mission in the next nine months.
