The Golden State Warriors dominated the New York Knicks in a convincing fashion.
Don't let the scoreboard fool you, this game wasn't as close as it seems.
Andris Biedrins had a career high and a NBA season high with 26 rebounds. Biedrins' rebounding outburst was definitely a surprise since the Warriors were ranked last in the NBA in rebounding.
Stephen Jackson led the Warriors in points with 25 on 7-18 (FG) shooting and speedster Monta Ellis was close behind with 24 points on 9-15 (FG). Jamal Crawford topped all Knicks players in points with 21 on 9-22 (FG) shooting and Eddie Curry went a perfect 5-5 (FG) and finished with 17 points.
The Warriors had an early lead on New York, and then watched their lead dwindle in the middle of the 2nd quarter as the Knicks outscored them 18-8 and outrebounded them 17-7. The Knicks took a five-point lead into the locker room (52-47).
Golden State regained the lead in the opening minutes of the fourth on Stephen Jackson's 3 (84-83) and never gave it up. The Warriors only shot 25.9 percent from downtown but turned up the heat in the second half.
Stephen Jackson scored 19 points in the fourth and connected on three three-pointers late in regulation to put away the pesky Knicks.
Nate Robinson led the late charge back into the game but teammates Jamal Crawford and Quentin Richardson both faltered and could not hit repeated wide open looks from the three point.
