Amir Khan vs. Zab Judah: Watch Khan Knock out Judah in the Fifth Round
Amir Khan vs. Zab Judah was one of the most anticipated fights of the year and it certainly lived up to expectations.
While it was only five rounds, there was plenty of excitement and there is no doubt it was more exciting than the Wladimir Kitschko vs. David Haye fight.
Entering the fight, Judah held the IBF strap while Khan held the world light welterweight belt. This was a unification fight and a winner-take-all event.
By the end of the fifth round, the winner was Khan. Khan punched Judah in the midsection just above the belt and it sent Judah to the ground. Judah was unable to recover and get back to his feet as he sat there hunched over in defeat while Khan began celebrating.
It was not the stunning blow that was expected after such excitement, but for some reason it was enough to keep Judah down for the 10-second count, giving Khan the victory.
Judah's team complained that the punch came below the belt, but it was quite clear that the punch was legal and came on the belt line.
Judah was dominated all night so maybe he had just had enough and realized that the knockout was inevitable. Either way, Khan heads home victorious and picked up the IBF strap in the process.
