It didn't take long for UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz to learn who his next opponent will be, should he successfully defend his title against Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Versus 6.

One of the top pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts, Cruz is obviously someone the UFC would like to keep busy and market to casual fans.

According to ESPN.com, UFC president Dana White said Cruz will meet the winner of Urijah Faber and Brian Bowles.

“Both Urijah and Bowles lost to Cruz. The winner of their fight will earn a rematch," White said.

Cruz recently defeated Faber at UFC 132, successfully defending the title for a third time. Cruz's fight against Faber was a rematch from 2007 which saw "The California Kid" submit Cruz in the first round. Their feud currently stands 1-1.

As for Bowles, Cruz beat him to capture the WEC Bantamweight title after Bowles suffered a hand injury during the bout that forced hm to forfeit the crown in 2010.

A rematch for either Faber or Bowles should certainly add motivation to their matchup, scheduled for UFC 139.

“It definitely gives me extra motivation. Beating Brian Bowles is just one step closer to getting that belt," Faber said.

"I definitely want the rematch with Cruz," he added.
