Roy Jones Jr. Breaks Down Upcoming Bout Between Amir Khan and Zab Judah
There is a lot of anticipation for this weekend's title unification bout between IBF Light Welterweight Champion Zab Judah (41-6, 28 KO) and WBA World Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO).
It all goes down on Saturday on HBO's World Championship Boxing.
A video preview was released featuring HBO commentator Bob Papa and former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr.
"I think he's [Khan] showed a lot of improvement after being with Freddie Roach," said Jones. "It taught him a lot of poise. It gave him a lot of confidence. It taught him so new things to work on in the ring so that he doesn't have to go out there and just be so stale and just lethargic and do the same things over and over."
"Zab is still Zab. You know, Zab will fight. Going to talk about it, going to tell you about it, and he's going to be about it.," he continued.
"I think he(Judah) matured more. So he matured as a person and that actually made him a better fighter. So now, I think he focuses more on himself in the ring then he does out in the clubs and getting it made the wrong way."
Jones also gave his keys to victory for both boxers.
"Khan must use his jab to stay outside and make it a long fight, try to make it a 10 or 12-round fight and stay ahead of Judah with his speed."
"For Zab, he has to get in and try to make it an ugly fight hoping to do it like the other kid did over there, I forget his name, but if he can hit Khan on the chin, we'll see what happens."
The fight will be broadcast at 10:00 p.m. ET./7:00 p.m. PT on July 23rd.
