X Games 17 Results: Video of 14-Year-Old Mitchie Brusco Landing 900
The Legend of 14-Year-Old Mitchie Brusco Lives On
Mitchie Brusco has had somewhat of a cult following for quite some time. This 14-year-old skateboarding sensation may not have medaled at the X Games, but he certainly made a name for himself at the competition.
In a practice run for Big Air, Brusco managed to land a 900 twice. The trick is in the arsenal of only a handful of riders to ever ride a skateboard. The fact that he is packing one already speaks volumes about what the future holds for him.
The X Games feature a number of gifted athletes, but Brusco might be a game changer. He's the kind of guy who only comes along once in a great while. We might be looking at the next Tony Hawk.
The fact of the matter is, no Big Air competitor has ever skated at the level Brusco is currently skating at the age of 14. Events like Big Air are all about pushing the envelope and accomplishing tricks that were once thought to be impossible.
Brusco is so far ahead of the game, there is no telling what sort of absurd tricks he's going to be able to land as he progresses as a skater.
Brusco is clearly not finished at the X Games. The fact that he might be able to build on his repertoire of tricks makes it hard to wait a whole year to see this kid in X Games action again.
Once he gets 100% comfortable in competition, we're could be looking at the standard in the event. It's clear that Brusco is something special. His promising future will likely hold something we've never seen before.
He didn't walk away with any hardware from X Games 17, but he certainly gained some followers along the way.
