It was announced Saturday night and reported on all of the big networks, even confirmed by Coach Rod Marinelli that Daunte Culpepper and the Lions had agreed to terms on a two-year contract, however, it wasn't official until Culpepper signed the paperwork this afternoon.
Coming off another tough loss where the Lions had trouble on offense and missed numerous opportunities to put the game out of reach, Daunte Culpepper, who will wear No. 11 for the Lions, is expected to suit up and play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He may even get the start.
If he doesn't start, second-year signal caller Drew Stanton or ex-Michigan standout Drew Henson may get the call with Culpepper subbing in relief. Dan Orlovsky has been the starting quarterback for the past few weeks but was injured on Sunday and is likely to miss some time.
The exact terms of the deal are unknown at this time, but Culpepper is expected to meet with the media tomorrow and some of the details will likely come out then.
