Cardinal Roundtable: Northern Illinois

Definitely a hilarious video, check it out.

Alright, here's this week's Cardinal Roundtable. Every single one from here on out will be during the week because of our random schedule. Check it out.

1.) So... Northern Illinois. On a scale of none to sheer panic, how worried are you about the Huskies coming into Muncie and getting the victory?

I've been worried basically every single day since Dante went out. The Cardinals are still getting credit for being a great offense, but it hasn't been the same. It'd be nice to see the Cardinals put together two complete halves. If the Cards can do that, they should win easily. But every game from here on out becomes worrisome. Chase the dream, get the MAC title and then whatever happens after that happens. But we should get a feel about how we'll fare against LeFevour based on Chandler Harnish. He is a similar quarterback.

2.) There are three teams currently ranked ahead of us in the BCS. BYU, Boise State, TCU, and Utah. Do any of these teams win out? Where would you rank Ball State's chances of making a BCS game at this point.

Whoops, I dedicated an entire post to this just a few minutes ago. But in short, our chances are not good. Boise State will likely win out.

3.) NIU checks in at 5-3 and 4-1 in the MAC. What do their wins, losses, and opponents tell you about this team?

Not much. They nearly beat Minnesota, and actually they should have. What it says is that they're probably the third best team in the MAC West. They're a good team, but not on Ball State's level. Well, let's hope not anyway. I will still always be concerned about a running quarterback like Harnish so you can throw the records out the window.

4.) What Northern Illinois player would you like to pick up for this Ball State team and why?

The Cardinals definitely need receiver help, so I'd take the freshman Nathan Palmer. Or an un-suspended Britt Davis circa 2006.

5.) This looks to be a classic case of a great offense versus a great defense. What do you expect from this Cardinal offense? What's your prediction for the game?

I'm going to have some wishful thinking and say that the Cardinals will play a complete half and make a heck of a statement. Give the voters a reminder of what makes this team so special. Prediction for the game: Pain. For the Huskies. Ball State 42-14.
