It came a week earlier than I would have guessed, but the Browns, most likely through Phil Savage or possibly owner Randy Lerner, have benched Derek Anderson in favor of first-round draft pick Brady Quinn.
Personally I knew this move had to happen after Syndric Steptoe fumbled a pass in Sunday's game.
Brady went over and tapped Steptoe on the helmet, while Derek simply walked by, ignoring Steptoe.
Brady Quinn is no guarantee of any type of success for the Browns in 2008, but he certainly needs to play so the Browns know what they have in order to decide how to deal with the quarterback position for the next two years.
Derek Anderson does have some trade value, and if Quinn shows any semblance of competence I think Derek goes on the auction block.
The less said about Ken Dorsey the better, because he shouldn't even be on the roster, as Josh Cribbs would be just as logical as the emergency quarterback as Dorsey (who is basically the 54th man on the roster).

I don't think it's a bad decision. The browns are definitely not a contender anymore, and can always turn back to Anderson later in the year or next year.
As for Dorsey, the guy played pretty good in preseason and showed that his arm is bigger than we thought. Give him some credit. I wouldn't mind him being the #2 next year.

Dorsey may have an arm, but Anderson has shown that having an arm without football talent is not enough. There's a reason the 49'ers traded Dorsey to us along with a draft pick to get Bitter Trent Dilfer.

Brady Quinn will be the best thing that's ever happened to the Cleveland Browns.
