Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is one of the elite managers who has won the Champions League with two different clubs, but he is unlikely to rest on the laurels of the past as he prepares his team for the 2011-12 season, which is extremely important for the club and for him as a manager.
The Portuguese tactician has in the past stated that the team is stronger in his second year than the first after winning the Champions League with Inter Milan in his second year with the club.
Madrid president Florentino Perez is desperate to see the club win the La Liga and the Champions League in the near future, which is the reason why Real Madrid have invested a lot of money on quality players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Fabio Coentrao and Kaka. Madrid have also parted ways with Jorge Valdano and Mourinho has higher powers this season in the transfer window.
Real Madrid's recent transfers have been done with an eye for the future as several of the new recruits could form the core of the team in the years to come. Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Angel di Maria, Fabio Coentrao and many others could have a bright career ahead of them at Real Madrid and should they establish a strong team chemistry, they have the capability to win trophies on a regular basis in the years to come.
Madrid have been linked with a couple of players in the transfer window while there could be some exits from the club as well because they might not get enough playing time at the club. This article is on some of the latest transfer rumors that have emerged in the media in recent weeks.

According to the Mirror, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez, after the striker expressed his wish that he wants to move away from Manchester City. Though Brazilian club Corinthians have made an offer for Argentina International Tevez, Real Madrid are poised to hijack the deal with Mourinho interested in signing the striker.
Mourinho has made some interesting signings in the summer including the likes of quality players like Fabio Coentrao and Nuri Sahin but he has revealed that signing a striker would make the team complete. Real Madrid have two quality strikers in Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema but the injury to Higuain left them short of strikers.
Also, Tevez is a sort of striker who could adjust to the La Liga and his work rate will be extremely helpful when Madrid are playing against quality oppositions like Barcelona. He can also play on the wings or behind the main striker if necessary and his versatility will mean more depth for Madrid, if they do sign the Manchester City captain.
However, City will be reluctant to let go of their captain and will only let them go if another club matches the valuation of Manchester City for their captain, which is reported to be around £50 million for the striker. The player’s agent Kia Joorabchian last night talked up a switch to Real, claiming a move to Spain would solve most of his client’s problems.
Joorabchian said: “For Carlos, the main motivation for leaving City is not to go to another club in the Premier League, but to move to a city where his family can adapt. A move to Spain might solve that problem. It’s about the language and the culture. In Spain, they speak the same language. You see a lot of Argentinian and Brazilian players live in Spain and they have adapted very easily.”

According to Caughtoffside.com, Real Madrid are preparing an audacious swoop for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, who was on top form in the last season scoring 22 goals in the season. Jose Mourinho is apparently interested in the versatile centre forward and could offer as much as £30 million to secure the signing of the Dutch International.
Gonzalo Higuain's long term injury in the last season left Real Madrid with less options and had to draft former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan for the second half of the striker. Mourinho will be keen to have enough depth in this department this year and could bring in another striker like Van Persie, who has undoubted quality.
However, Arsene Wenger will not sell the striker for sure considering that at present, the futures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri are still uncertain and idea of negotiating the transfer of Van Persie will not be entertained by the Gunners. Also, Van Persie is one of Arsenal's most loyal players and has stated in the past that he enjoys playing for the club.
Also, it would be doubtful whether he will be interested in a move to Real Madrid in order to win trophies considering that he has said in the past that he admires the stability of Arsenal FC and Real Madrid have had a number of managers sacked in the last decade. Though the Dutchman has won little in his career, he is one of the senior most players in the current Arsenal team and could potentially become the captain of the team if Cesc Fabregas does leave in the future.
The Dutch striker has shown loyalty to the Gunners and Wenger will be happy to have him in the squad as he is one of the best strikers in the world. Mourinho already has two excellent strikers in Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema and if he does sign a world class player like Van Persie or Sergio Aguero, it could mean that one of the two strikers could move out of Madrid, though many fans believe that both have the potential to perform extremely well in the near future.

Though Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that he will not sell midfielder Luka Modric in this summer transfer window, he is preparing to sign his replacement in the case that Modric leaves, according to the Daily Mail. Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero has been identified as a potential target for the club and Spurs could make an offer of £12.3 million for the versatile midfielder.
Granero possesses good dribbling skills and can play both in a deeper role and as an attacking midfielder. Premiership clubs Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in signing the midfielder but are apparently unwilling to match Spurs' bid. Tottenham finished the campaign in 5th place and with Liverpool being very active in the transfer window, they could finish outside the top five in the 2011-12 season.
This is the reason why Levy and Redknapp are extremely keen to hold on to the Croatian midfielder, who is integral to the attacking play of the team. Tottenham might offload several fringe players in the transfer window in order to sign a few quality players like Granero, who could help them reach the Champions League places in the next season.
Real Madrid have signed Hamit Altintop and Nuri Sahin in this summer transfer window and both can play in Granero's role and provide depth in the Real Madrid midfield. Granero is at a stage where he needs to play regularly and he was on the periphery of the team in the last year. The new signings will do nothing to improve his chances of playing regularly and could be interested in a move.
Though he will favor a team where he can play Champions League football, he will be more interested in playing regularly and he also has a decent chance of playing Champions League football in the future if he joins Tottenham.

Ricardo Kaka is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the world in the last decade and he was signed for a huge fee by Real Madrid in 2009. The Brazilian midfielder has struggled with injuries in the last two years at Madrid and has not made a big impact for the club. Though he has come under criticism from sections of supporters and media, it should be noted that he has not yet produced his best form due to injuries, which has not helped him adjust to Madrid's style of play.
However, Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil was signed in the last summer by Real Madrid following his excellent displays in the World Cup in South Africa and the attacking midfielder has established himself as a regular in the team. He was arguably the best performer for Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo and the 22-year-old has a long and bright future ahead of him.
However, for Kaka, it means that it will be difficult to dislodge Ozil from the team and with Nuri Sahin and Hamit Altintop also added to the team, the midfield will have good depth. According toTribalfootball.com, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has refused to rule out a move for Kaka, who has contributed immensely to Milan's success in the past decade.
Galliani has spoken openly about waiting until the final days of the summer market before making their move for a big name signing. On Kaka being their 'Mr X', Galliani said: "It's a very complicated operation. "But Ricky is always in our hearts". Though it is difficult to persuade Real Madrid to sell to Milan at the right price, Galliani is not yet ready to give up hope on signing Kaka because he knows that the quality of the Brazilian.
Also, Milan have lost Andrea Pirlo, who recently signed for Juventus after spending his best years at the San Siro and the club could be on the lookout for an attacking midfielder. At present, Real Madrid will not be selling below a particular price but with time, they could be interested in selling at a lower price in order to offload the player and his wages.
However, it seems like Jose Mourinho might give time for Kaka to prove himself at Madrid because with a full summer of rest, he will have the time to get back to full fitness, which was a major problem last season. The Portuguese tactician will know that Kaka is a player who can help Madrid beat world class teams like Barcelona and could be interested in holding on to the midfielder.
