Sean Sherk who was looking for redemption after his loss to B.J. Penn stopped Tyson Griffin with a decision victory in a three round striking match. Sherk showed his underrated boxing off and proved to the world that you can actually win a fight without ever hitting a single person in the face.

With explosive and quick hands Sherk showed little too no power when duking it out with Griffin, Sherks hands were constantly missing there target and when they did land they were hitting Griffins arms. Griffin on the other hand threw probably half as many punches as Sherk but with the ones that connected Sherk was knocked back and looked slightly dazed at times.

In the next big fight of the night Junior dos Santos wowed a crowd of fans with his stellar first round knock out of Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu stud Fabricio Werdum. Werdum who should have in all rights deserved a title shot against UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera will have to start anew in his quest for a UFC belt.

Gray Maynard vs Rich Clementi was another major league slug fest that saw the two pounding it out for supremacy. However, it was the judges that in the end made the call declaring Maynard the victor at the end of the third round.

The biggest and best fight of the night would have to go the three round striking war between Thiago Alves and Josh Koschek. Alves looking as if he weighed 200 lbs in his bout was by far the bigger welterweight and batted around Koschek like a rag doll, but Koschek would not be counted out and fought back from being dazed multiple times to eventually fall short of victory by a judges decision.

Finally the main event came about that saw a somewhat cocky looking Anderson Silva prancing around the ring like he was at a rave party against a short but determined Patrick Cote. Anderson using some fancy foot/hand/ and headwork seemed to be looking to draw Cote into making bad decisions but Cote casually stood his distance.

Despite Cote remaining calm he lost the first two rounds when Silva decided to land shots, and was prematurely put an end to his night when a blown ACL dropped him the opening minute of the third round.
