2011 British Open Leaderboard: Is Rickie Fowler Bringing Sexy Back to Golf?

At 22 years old, Rickie Fowler has become one of the best young golfers on the tour, even without a victory to his credit to this point.
Fowler has become known for not only his stellar on-course play, but for his wild outfits that reflect his eye for fashion and flare. Bright purple, blue and orange outfits adorn the vast array of colors that Fowler has sported on the course.
With his success and the current success of fellow 22 year old Rory McIlroy at the US Open and before, Fowler is becoming one of the faces of the sport for the younger generation.
It always looks like the group Fowler plays with is having a good time, and he told the PGA Tour website:
Having a good time, yeah. Like I said, it was a fun pairing. Rory and I always enjoy playing together, and it's always fun to play with Ernie. But when you're playing well, hitting good shots and getting off to a good start, it's not too hard to have a good time.
With Tiger Woods not playing and Phil Mickelson struggling to win, the American golf fans are looking for a home-grown player to root for.
Fowler has the right style and attitude to be the kind of player that many young American golf fans can get behind, and his outlandish dress is the perfect show of excess that makes America what we are.
It’s that style that has separated him from the other golfers on tour, and it’s his marketability that could bring him to the Tiger Woods level. Fowler has the chance, in the absence of Woods, to become a fan favorite and the biggest star in golf if he can start winning some tournaments.
