BJ Penn's Younger Brother Reagan to Make MMA Debut

According to MMAfighting.com, Reagan Penn, former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn's younger brother, is set to make his mixed martial arts debut on August 27th at the Blaisdell Arena in Hawaii.

The event is for the promotion ProElite and it will be their first event since 2008.

No word has been released yet as to who he will be fighting, but it has been announced that it will be a welterweight bout.

Reagan has been involved in MMA for some time now, training with BJ and often cornering him in his UFC fights. He has only been a behind the scenes kind of guy, however, and has never taken part in an amateur or professional MMA fight.

Former UFC fighters Andrei Arlovski and Hawaii native Kendall Grove are also expected to be featured on the card.

It's not uncommon for brothers to both compete in MMA. If Reagan is successful as a mixed martial artist then BJ and him may be able to join the ranks of other famous MMA brothers such as Nate and Nick Diaz, Jim and Dan Miller and Antonio Rogerio and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
