WWE seems to enjoy not announcing its full card. Most recently, we saw Evan Bourne defeat Jack Swagger at Capitol Punishment.
Everyone is talking about their predictions for the big matches, but I want to give a voice to the matches that might not even happen.
With that being said, here are five ideas for what may as well be a dark match.
This is a match that I wouldn't really want to see as explained in my first BR article, but it is a real possibility. Drew was abandoned by Dolph when they were supposed to face the Big Show.
Dolph cowered away while Drew was dismantled by the enraged giant. If Drew is fit to compete at all, I see him seeking revenge and falling short of a US title reign. He's been buried this far and I would hate to see the title change hands already.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Likelihood of happening: 50 percent
This is simple and still could be announced on Smackdown this week. DiBiase pinned Jackson last week. Easy, right? I see this match as the most likely candidate for the (potentially) unannounced match.
WWE seems to be high on Jackson though, so I doubt he'll drop the belt this soon.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson
Likelihood of happening: 90 percent
Considering that Raw is over, the only person I could imagine being out of the Raw match in the Miz after Alberto Del Rio awkwardly threw the ladder at him and the way Miz's hand/forearm looked didn't seem quite right.
Participants for battle royal: Chris Masters, Curt Hawkins, David Hart Smith, David Otunga, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, JTG, Michael McGuillicutty, Primo, Santino Marella, Skip Sheffield, Tyler Reks, Vladimir Koslov, Zack Ryder
I'm going with Skip as a surprise entrant rather than John Morrison, assuming that Morrison isn't ready to come back yet. Sheffield has been ready for awhile (allegedly) and this could be a great way for him to make an immediate impact.
Winner: Skip Sheffield
Likelihood of happening: 10 percent
More likely than the Raw battle royal, someone in the Smackdown match gets taken out on Friday and this match need to happen to let someone else fill the spot. A likely candidate would be Heath Slater, maybe Justin Gabriel or (sadly) Daniel Bryan. I can't imagine them taking any of the other five out of the match.
Participants for battle royal: Brodus Clay, Drew McIntyre, Ezekiel Jackson, Hornswoggle (sadly), Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Jinder Mahal, Johnny Curtis, Skip Sheffield, Ted DiBiase, The Great Khali, Trent Barreta, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu
I know I had Skip on the Raw match too, but he could return to either brand and it would make sense. However, I don't see him being as lucky if he returns Sunday on the Blue brand. Also, I could see Drew McIntyre furthering the lack of care put into the draft by going to the Smackdown after feeling underused on Raw and helping Smackdown get another potential star.
Sure, Smackdown is heel-heavy, but he's to most logical person to go over right now since all of the faces are in Raw's MITB match. Maybe Chris Masters, but I doubt it. Neither Skip nor Drew would win this one though. Even though my prediction hasn't had many matches, I think that he could be a very interesting MITB participant.
Winner: Jinder Mahal
Likelihood of happening: 30 percent
The Usos have looked good recently, Nexus hasn't. Pretty easy way to at least give those awful belts to a real team. Maybe they can change up the look of the belts to not be as ugly?
Winner: The Usos
Likelihood of happening: 60 percent
Hope you enjoyed my unlikely MITB match candidates! Any thoughts that I didn't come up with? Leave a comment! Think my matches don't make sense? Tell me why!
Wish someone else would win these matches that probably won't happen (aside from marking out to Zack Ryder)? Give me your thoughts below!
