Rock Teases Return at Survivor Series: How to Book a Possible Rock Return

Kevin Germany@@KevinUber1Analyst IIIJuly 15, 2011

Here is the video for those of you who haven't heard about the Rock responding to John Cena's comments disparaging The Rock in Australia.

At the end of the video Rock heavily implies a return at this year's Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden. Rock made his debut at the 1996 edition of Survivor Series held in Madison Square Garden.

Dwayne Johnson is a very busy man. According to his twitter, he will be shooting for the sequel of GI Joe from August to November.

If shooting wraps up early in November, expect Rock to make an appearance at Survivor Series. A Rock appearance would still be something special but it would not be the same as him actually wrestling.

But if he actually wrestles, I have an idea to capitalize on the drawing power of the Rock vs. John Cena feud.

Team Bring It vs. Cenation in a 10-man elimination tag team match

Last year's Survivor Series was awful. The annual 10-man elimination tag team match was forgettable. The main event was horrendous. Furthermore, the pay-per-view ended 20 minutes early.

Survivor Series as an event needs to be made special again. This match between the Rock's team and John Cena's team will accomplish that. It will be one of the most anticipated bouts in Survivor Series history.

Storyline Background

Before I lay out the storyline, there are four things to remember.

1. Randy Orton is no longer World Heavyweight Champion nor is he in contention for it.

2. CM Punk is no longer in the WWE.

3. Mick Foley is revealed as the anonymous Raw General Manager.

4. John Cena is "fired" after losing the WWE Championship to Alberto Del Rio at Summerslam.

Start of Storyline

The storyline begins the night after late October's pay-per-view Vengeance. There are three weeks in between Vengeance and Survivor Series.

Week #1

Raw General Manager Mick Foley is on the phone talking to the Rock in a backstage segment. Foley announces "shocking news" for Survivor Series that he will reveal at the end of the show.

"The Rock will make his return at Survivor Series!" Foley declares in front of the Atlanta crowd.

Cue Vince McMahon's theme song.

"Vince, Rock wants John Cena to be reinstated. He wants to lay the Smackdown on that walking Popsicle at Survivor Series."

"Better yet Vince. How about Team Bring It vs. Cenation?"

Vince officially reinstates John Cena at the end of the show. Cena is advertised to return in Liverpool, England next week.

Cenation vs. Team Bring It is officially booked for Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden.

On the next Smackdown, Randy Orton stirs the pot. "I will be a member of the Cenation for Survivor Series."

Of course, it takes him five minutes to say that sentence. The Greenville, S.C., fans are excited for the firepower in the match.

Week #2

Mick Foley announces that WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio will join Team Bring It. He must defend his title against the Cenation.

Del Rio is disgusted he has to join Team Bring It at Survivor Series and defend the WWE Championship. He says he will only do it if his bodyguard Mason Ryan joins the team.

Foley obliges.

John Cena and Randy Orton recruit Del Rio's hated rival Rey Mysterio to join the Cenation.

Mysterio failed to capture the WWE Championship at Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell against Del Rio. He was also unsuccessful in a triple threat match at Vengeance that also involved the Miz.

Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins also join the Cenation after Cena persuades the Long Island natives.

Next Randy Orton squashes Mason Ryan in an impromptu match. Afterwards he punts minimum wage Batista in the skull. Ryan is out for Survivor Series.

The main event for that night is a 6-man tag match between John Cena, Zack Ryder, and Curt Hawkins vs. Alberto Del Rio and the Usos. Del Rio costs his team the match by refusing to tag in.

There is no shortage of drama going in to next week.

Speculation abounds over who the 5th man for Team Bring It is.

Week #3

Mick Foley announces the fifth man will be revealed at Survivor Series.

The main event is John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship in Boston. Another event is the Usos vs. the Major Broskis for the Tag Team Belts.

The Major Broskis retain thanks to John Cena's interference. Now on to the main event.

John Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment to become the new WWE Champion.

However special guest referee Mick Foley notices Del Rio's left foot was under the ropes. Foley restarts the match. Del Rio retains after an enzugiri from the second rope.

After Del Rio and John Cena leave the ring, Foley lays out the terms of the historic match.

It is a basic five on five elimination tag team match. Alberto Del Rio must defend his WWE Championship. The Major Broskis (Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins) must defend their tag team titles.

If Team Bring It wins Alberto Del Rio remains the WWE Champion and the Usos become the Tag Team Champions.

If Cenation wins John Cena becomes the WWE Champion and the Major Broskis remain Tag Team Champions.

That week's Smackdown is used to heavily promote the bout.

Cenation members are John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Zack Ryder, and Curt Hawkins.

Team Bring It members are Rock, Alberto Del Rio, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and the unidentified fifth man.

Interesting tidbit: The Rock is the first cousin of Rikishi, who is the father of the Usos.

Survivor Series

Amidst much buzz in Madison Square Garden, the special 10-man elimination tag team match is the main event.

Cenation comes out first to a mixed reaction.

Team Bring It comes out to a deafening ovation. Alberto Del Rio drives up to the ramp with his Bentley amid thunderous boos.

The fifth man for Team Bring It is still not here.

Rock takes the microphone. "John Cena, you run your mouth about how the Rock is a sellout and how he left for 'greener pastures'. Well the Rock says the only reason why you are in the WWE is because your movies absolutely suck!"

Madison Square Garden erupts in cheers. Rock then inquires to who the spiked hair wrestler standing next to Cena is.

Rock: "John Cena, who is this roody poo?"

John Cena: "Woo Woo Woo! You know it's Long Island Iced Z Zack Ry-!"

Rock: "Woo Woo Woo! IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!"

Madison Square Garden has just witnessed two owns. They are about to witness a third one.

"Randy Orton. You run your mouth about how the Rock is a sellout. You also run your mouth about how that overgrown tomato is the best talker in the business. Well the Rock wonders if those voices in your head are on crack!"

Randy Orton begins to explain his indefensible comments. But the Rock cuts him off. "Know your role and shut your mouth because they are all chanting the Rock's name!"

"Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!" The Madison Square Garden fans know their role.

Then the chant is interrupted. "Break down the Walls!" The theme song plays to deafening pops.

Chris Jericho is the fifth man!

Jericho is back in the WWE as a member of Team Bring It. Jericho then grabs Rock's mic and disses John Cena and Randy Orton.

"Teaming up with the Rock and that idiot with the scarf was a must because John Cena and Randy Orton are threats to the WWE." Jericho says with Rock flanked to his right and Del Rio flanked to his left.

Match is underway

For the first 10 minutes no one is eliminated in spite of numerous near falls. Madison Square Garden is exploding with chants of "Y2J!" and "Rocky!"

Then the first wave of eliminations hit.

Jey Uso falls victim to the Chihuahua's 619. Jimmy Uso falls victim to a Rough Ryder and a Curt Hawkins' elbow.

Cenation is dominating right now. The Usos are now officially renamed the Jobbers.

But Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio change that. Jericho hits the codebreaker on Mysterio to eliminate the chihuahua. Hawkins meets his demise when Del Rio's cross armbreaker makes him tap out.

The final three men on the Cenation are John Cena, Randy Orton, and Zack Ryder. The final three men on Team Bring It are Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, and the Rock.

But you already know that.

Rock, Jericho and Alberto Del Rio are all bickering amongst themselves. Del Rio is in the ring when Zack Ryder shocks the world when he rolls up Alberto Del Rio for the three count. Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Long Island Iced Z.

Now it's Rock and Chris Jericho vs. John Cena and Randy Orton.

Rock and Randy Orton go at it for a while. Rock tags in Jericho but Y2J is RKO'd! Super Cena and Wonder Orton are in great shape.

Cenation is in great shape. Super Cena and Wonder Orton is about to unite their superpowers to defeat Team Bring It.

John Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment on the Rock. Cena tags in Randy Orton to finish it off.

Randall Keith Orton is about to make the biggest heel turn in WWE history. He is about to punt Rock in the skull.

He is on the verge of punting Rock in the skull until Rock rolls out of the way. Rock rolls up Orton for the three count.

Madison Square Garden shakes in anticipation. It is Rock vs. John Cena for all the marbles.

The fans at Madison Square Garden and all the Survivor Series viewers are treated to a five minute preview of their Wrestlemania encounter.

Cena starts his five moves of doom. He gets to the Attitude Adjustment part but Rock reverses it into a Rock Bottom!

"1! 2! No!" Cena kicks out of the Rock Bottom.

Then Cena adjusts the Attitude Era. "1! 2! No!" Rock kicks out of the Attitude Adjustment.

Now Rock hits the spinebuster. He is about to land the People's Elbow when Cena rolls out of the way and locks in the STF.

Rock reaches the ropes. More back and forth action ensues until Rock is about to hit the Rock Bottom. But John Cena reverses it into an Attitude Adjustment!

"1! 2! 3!" The Madison Square Garden fans yell in either disgust or sheer joy. They witnessed an incredible Survivor Series tag match.

Cenation defeats Team Bring It! Cenation comes out and celebrates their victory. John Cena wins his 11th World Championship in the WWE. The Major Broskis are handed their tag team titles.

All in all, Cenation vs. Team Bring It needs to happen because the fans would pay to see it. Pay-per-view buys will go through the roof if Rock makes his in-ring return or even makes an appearance.

The Rock vs. John Cena feud actually improves because of this match.

It proves to the fans that Rock is ready to go in his match against John Cena. Rock shakes off some in-ring rust.

John Cena regains the upper hand against the Rock.

That was my ultimate Survivor Series storyline in the event the Rock actually wrestles. If not, then he can be Team Bring It's manager.
