Arsenal-Newcastle in the FA Cup Today
It’s Saturday, and it’s a lazy, boring one thus far dear Arseurs.
Hoping the match later on today could add that extra bit of zing as Newcastle comes a-visiting to Ashburton Grove.
There's not a lore as far as team news goes ahead of this one. We will have Senderos and Clichy back in the squad as mentioned earlier.
With much of the first team not getting too much of exercise in the last couple of days, they could definitely get a look-in in this one.
I'm expecting a whirlwind of a performance from us, as we put the minor disappointment of being out of the Carling Cup in the past. Indeed, there is nothing like disappointment to put in a rollicking good performance.
We will be facing a spirited Geordie side with many minging players in its ranks such as the lovable Nicky Butt, Viduka and could you ever forget Alan Smith, oh how we love these players at Ashburton Grove!
With Kevin Keegan at their helm, he will have a point to prove and the players will also want to get into his good books with a fine performance.
Needless to say, we will have to pull our socks up and bring our "A" game. I fancy a Fabregas goal in this one, he has been due a few for some time, wouldn't you say?
None of you need to be reminded of the nature of cup games, so let’s hope we do them in, the Arsenal way!
In other news, Wenger believes scuffles within the team only build togetherness and I would have to nod in agreement with him. He also said that the issue between Bendtner and Ade will be dealt "internally", which is the only thing you would expect from our respectable Frenchman.
"Disagreements are part of the game and every single manager will be surprised what has been made of that story," Wenger said. "But that is part of being at Arsenal.
"Of course you want to deal with this internally. We want to know what kind of incident happened but we will deal with this without any problem.
"We will even use this to be conscious of how much every incident, even a minor one, can be interpreted on the outside and that will even improve our togetherness inside the team."
"There is always action taken if it is needed. I believe that from now on it is better for us not to talk too much about it."
This piece on Kolo Toure being stretchered off with a groin injury in the ACN is definitely distressing. We only need to look at our last game to see how much Kolo brings to this team. Let's hope we don't lose him to injury now. Further tests are to be conducted on Toure before we can assess the extent of the damage. Fingers crossed now.
I want to remind you of the TATA tea Arsenal Soccer Stars programme, the Banglaore trials are to be held at the Football Stadium (opposite Garuda Mall) on the 27th and the 28th of January.
This is for boys under 15 and if they are good enough, they get to go to Ashburton Grove! More details here on this. If you do know of any boys who fit the bill, would encourage you to send them over, opportunities like this seldom come round too often!
And will sign off with this, hilarious!!! Isn't that just a laugh and a half! Har har har!!
Now hoping for a good performance today. Come on you reds!!!!
