Manny Pacquiao: Have Bridges Been Burned for a Mayweather-Pac-Man Bout?

Manny Pacquaio may never end up boxing Floyd Mayweather after all.
After years of speculation and controversy...it's beginning to look like the most anticipated fight of the last decade will never actually go down.
The incredible gap in how the fight should occur is incredible. Both sides have firm stances on major issues that make the NFL and NBA lockouts look like a pillow fight.
ESPN.com boxing analyst Kieran Mulvaney talks about the vast amount of problems that have still yet to be resolved after all this time:
But bridges haven't just been burned -- they've been napalmed. Mayweather loathes the idea of working with Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum. Arum detests working with Mayweather. Mayweather doesn't want to expose his undefeated record to any greater risk than absolutely necessary.
And whether it's because he doesn't like giving blood, doesn't want to give credence to Camp Mayweather's insults, or is injecting enough juice to turn Ivan Calderon into Mike Tyson, Pacquiao isn't going to accede to the entirety of Mayweather's drug-testing demands.
The No. 1 reason people defended a Mayweather-Pacquaio bout would eventually happen was because of the money involved.
Money is usually a deal breaker.
If each participant was able to make up to $50M for a 12-round fight, how do you pass that up?
Well if each fighter is to garner around $20M a fight against lesser opponents, it's not exactly like they would be strapped for cash if they were to stay away from each other. With massive ego's and undefeated records on the line—this would be a fight that impacted legacies.
Sure the crowd is demanding it and sure it might be the fight to potentially bring boxing's popularity back to relevancy.
But when you look at it from the fighter's perspective...there is too much to lose unless they have the fight on their terms.
