The Daily Mirror has announced that renowned Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia is a Summer target for Spanish duo Atletico Madrid and Malaga CF whilst Turkish giants Fenerbache are also interested in acquiring the 34-year-old.
The Spaniard was Arsenal's first choice keeper from late 2007 until deep into 2010. Almunia has had his Arsenal career tainted with errors which almost lead to fans demanding his instant departure. A natural leader however, Almunia is a strong and composed keeper who has amassed over 170 appearances for the Gunners'.
However after Lukasz Fabianski emerged as a consistent force before injury and the Wojciech Szczesny immense run in 2011 have ensured the former Celta Vigo shot stopper is surplus to requirements at the Emirates.
The Spaniard was not included in Arsenal's 23-man squad for the Asian pre-season tour and is expected to sign with one of the mentioned club however there is concern over the amount Wenger wants for the veteran keeper.
