As the NFL offseason continues to inch closer and closer to training camp, hope for the lockout to finally end seems to rise and fall every other day. When the CBA is eventually agreed upon, don’t expect there to be a massive week-long celebration.
As soon as a deal is signed, get ready because teams are going to be making deals like crazy.
Well, the smart franchises like the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts will sit back and watch teams like the Washington Redskins treat free agency like an auction. Even with the best cornerback in the game, Nnamdi Asomugha, available on the open market, if you take into consideration players like Peyton Manning and Michael Vick were never going to hit free agency to begin with, it’s a pretty weak class.
Trades may not happen at the same rate as they did last year with a salary cap in place, but there still should be a good handful of notable ones.
Stay tuned for NFL trade rumors, free-agent buzz and lockout news.
