NHL Free Agents 2011: Anaheim Ducks Trade for Edmonton Oilers Andrew Cogliano
The Anaheim Ducks have acquired the rights to Andrew Cogliano, as NHL.com reports.
Andrew Cogliano and the Edmonton Oilers were set to go to arbitration on July 21st.
Now, the Anaheim Ducks have nine days to sign the RFA to a or go to arbitration with him. The Ducks sent a 2013 draft pick to the Oilers in exchange for Cogliano.
The Oilers were said to be shopping a couple players and Cogliano's name was among them.
Cogliano scored 18 goals and 45 total points as a rookie, leading many to believe he would become a top forward. However, his production has never reached the same numbers as his rookie season.
Still, Cogliano hasn't missed a game in the NHL and is only 24, giving him plenty of prime years ahead of him.
