Saturday Night Main Event Live Grades 🔠
Your winner, Kazarian. Solid opening match for Destination X. Plenty of good action to kick off the pay per view. Crowd was completely behind Joe on this one but Kazarian got a win with a surprise roll up pin.
Match Rating: 3.5/5
Backstage, Eric Young is looking for a tag team partner. After three TNA wrestlers say they can not help him, Shark Boy makes his return and accepts to be Young's tag team partner.
Douglas Williams versus Mark Haskins
Your winner, Douglas Williams. This match wasn't the best to watch. Haskins had a few missteps in the match and was even booed by the crowd for botching a move. Overall, it wasn't an impressive debut for Haskins.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
Generation Me versus Eric Young and Shark Boy
Your winners, Young and Shark Boy. Decent match, a step up from the previous one. Got more exciting at the end with some good fast paced action to close it out.
Match Rating: 3/5
Ultimate X Match
Shannon Moore versus Robbie E versus Amazing Red versus Alex Shelley
Your winner, Alex Shelley. Good action and entertaining Ultimate X match to watch. Always exciting to see high risk moves and action both inside and outside the ring.
Match Rating: 4/5
Jerry Lynn versus Rob Van Dam
Your winner, Rob Van Dam. Quite a physical, back and forth match between Lynn and RVD. The match itself was exciting to watch and had its moments. Overall, good showing for both wrestlers. Lynn is looking great for his age.
Match Rating: 4/5
Low Ki versus Austin Aries versus Jack Evans versus Zema Ion
Your winner, Austin Aries. Another great match by all wrestlers featured. The match had so much action and energy, especially with the crowd. Great X-Division feature.
Match Rating: 5/5
TNA X-Division Title
Abyss versus Brian Kendrick
Your winner and new X-Division champion, Brian Kendrick. This was a story of all X-Division wrestlers not back down against Immortal, who interfered with the match. Overall, slower paced match for Destination X but pleased with Kendrick winning and the X-Division wrestlers taking over against Immortal's power.
Match Rating: 3/5
Christopher Daniels versus AJ Styles
Your winner, AJ Styles. Competitive match between Styles and Daniels. However, it did drag as the match progressed but picked up towards the end. Also, having a clean finish was a nice way to end Destination X.
Match Rating: 3/5
Overall Destination X Rating: 3.5/5
Overall Destination X Rating: B
PERAGINE'S QUICK THOUGHT ON DESTINATION X:
Overall, I felt Destination X was a good pay per view that also had the right results moving forward. The best match of the night was the four-way feature of Austin Aries, Low Ki, Zema Ion and Jack Evans. For me, anyone who won the match would benefit the X-Division but I did like the result of Aries coming away with the win. Also, the Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn match was solid to watch, alongside with the Ultimate X. Brian Kendrick coming away with the X-Division title was good to see. In the main event, AJ Styles was a good choice for the victory.
The one match that did not get over very well was Douglas Williams against Mark Haskins. Haskins struggled in his TNA debut and the audience even booed him towards the end of the match. Other than that, the matches and its results were just fine. The main event could've seen a short span in time. Another match like the Ultimate X could've been longer.
It is safe to say that TNA put on a positive pay per view. Questions will begin to emerge on what is next for Impact! Wrestling. We saw a month of very good television and hope the momentum continues. Destination X was a better quality pay per view in 2011 for TNA Wrestling.
