TNA Wrestling: How Destination X Can Be the Best PPV This Year
The writers at Impact Wrestling should feel pretty good about the situation they are in, as they enter Destination X in about two hours.
For the past month, we have seen some of the best wrestling, promotion and creativity the network and brand have seen in years, and it looks to only get better.
Tonight’s PPV should continue that path and help promote the future as the company heads toward “Bound for Glory” in the next two months.

Report: MLB Vet Unretires After 1 Day
Events such as a PPV can be tricky. They can either exceed expectations or fall far below them. There is never a happy medium with them, as the sub plots and storylines usually are blurred by surprise endings and wrinkles in the original plan.
Tonight will be no different. There is an agenda for Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan, Vince Russo and the rest of the TNA hierarchy and while a good portion of it is defined, we will be happy with the outcome of more than half of what we think will happy actually does occur.
But, knowing Bischoff and the writers and the need to maintain its rise in power on the cable dial and in the wrestling community, the changes we see at the PPV and maybe last minute will only enhance what the next few months will bring to the network.
We as fans can only hope for this. And we can hope that the results of tonight’s actions will lead to greater things for feuds, for characters and for future shows, especially next Thursday night when Sting battles Mr. Anderson.
The best thing about tonight is that the smaller, more accomplished wrestlers are honored for their work and their skill, much in the same way as Brian Pillman, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit were honored as some of the best technicians before them.
If this trend is to continue and we see a spike in ratings and awareness of the brand, then I would hope the writers keep in stride with the continuity of what they have started.
They should not stray from the story and the sub plot of Daniels vs. AJ Styles or Brian Kendrick vs. Abyss.
They should treat the match between Jerry Lynn and RVD as it has been treated before with a 5-star rating.
The X-Division should be catapulted to main-event status for one night, and then the stars that are brought in as X-Division members should be treated as gods—for they will help carry this promotion.
While the stars of today are aging and the talent of the homegrown wrestlers is not as strong as it should be, Amazing Red, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries, etc. can carry this company far and help bridge a gap the WWE cannot compete with right now.
Tonight will speak volumes through action and surprises. Let’s just hope those surprises and outcomes of matches keep the brand on the path to future success.
