If you ever run into the greatest basketball player to ever hit the NBA, make him a bet he can't refuse. If you are wondering, he can't refuse any bet. That should make small talk with the icon quite easy.

Michael Jordan joins other sports legends and TV and movie stars at the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament in Tahoe.

At one particular par 3, Jordan stars jibber jabbering with some fans. He apparently strikes a bet with them over whether he can get the ball onto the green in one stroke. You can see the initial video of him interacting with some lucky fans here

The video posted at the top is the second part, the one that really matters. Jordan strolls to the tee like he did a million times to the free throw line.

He is calm, cool and about to make some money. Jordan bangs the ball down the fairway and he wills it to go right where he wants to.

Moments later, the ball stops, I assume on the green. Jordan bolts up to the gallery and gets back what I am sure was pittance to the millionaire.

That is not the point. It is not about the amount of the bet to Jordan, this guy just likes to win, ant any cost.

There is only so much excitement you can get from hitting a par 3 surrounded by other athletes past their primes.

This is a six-time world champion, he has to do something to spice up a rather benign affair. I love that Jordan has no qualms going into the stands and putting his hard earned sawbuck on the line.

Honestly, a gambling problem never looked so funny. These are the moments that make a celebrity golf tourney worthwhile.

How often can you say that you dropped a few bucks to a living legend. That small amount of cash the fan lost was a priceless sum for the story he will be able to tell for a lifetime.
