Clichy Completes City Move; Salihamidzic and Coentrao on the Move as Well
Gael Clichy has become the latest Arsenal player to move to the Eastlands after high-profile players like Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor. However, Clichy's deal has become more important than those two simply because it could herald a mass exodus of stars from Arsenal.
Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas could be the next players to depart Arsenal, which would seriously put Arsenal's future in jeopardy. Arsene Wenger may have the experience to build another team, but would established players look at Arsenal as a potential destination should it happen?
It would unlikely be the case as Arsenal will have only Robin van Persie as the high-profile player. Players' moving from clubs is not a big deal, but to experience a mass exodus of star players would be damaging even for a club of Arsenal's stature.

Clichy moves to Manchester City for an estimated £7 million, which leaves Arsenal with no recognised Premier League winning experience.
Wolfsburg have signed Bosnian midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic on a free transfer from Juventus. It completes a return to Bundesliga for the 34-year-old who enjoyed great success with Bayern Munich.
A Champions League winner in 2001, Salihamidzic will provide Wolfsburg with the necessary experience that maybe needed within the team to overcome the loss of Diego. Even though the talented Brazilian is yet to move away from the club, Wolfsburg seem prepared to replace him with other options.
Diego might have become a spoiled child after returning from Juventus, but there is no doubt over his God-given talent. Any club will feel the effects of missing such a player, but Salihamidzic could be the ideal replacement for him.
The club has so far signed three other players, but none of them have been as high-profile as him. It could be the new direction that Wolfsburg need to challenge for the Bundesliga title.
Fabio Coentrao is all set to become the biggest signing for Real Madrid this summer after Benfica released a statement that confirmed a deal with the La Liga giants. The deal is valued at £27 million, which is an astonishing amount of money for a left back, but then again, this is reportedly the same fee Chelsea were willing to pay.
Coentrao rose to fame in the 2010 World Cup and has been performing exceptionally well in the Portuguese League so far. It would also see defender Ezequiel Garay move to Benfica as part of the deal.
Ever since Andre Villas-Boas moved to Stamford Bridge, reports have been continuously linking him with the Portuguese defender. Ashley Cole was supposedly interested in moving to Spain with both Real Madrid and Barcelona showing interest.
However, one can certainly be sure that Cole will not be moving to Madrid following Coentrao's arrival. Coentrao is a brilliant attacking full back, who can support Cristiano Ronaldo, should the Portuguese star play on the left next season.
The space that he would leave after cutting inside could potentially work in favour of Coentrao, whose attacking abilities are second to none.
