Wizards-Grizzlies: Washington Looks to Continue Hot Month
The Washington Wizards were on a tear until they arrived in Cleveland.
Zyndrunas Ilgauskas was making every shot and ended up with a game-high 24 points, while LeBron James came through with 23 points.
Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison only scored 20 points combined, which was not enough to overcome a 16-point halftime deficit and definitely not enough for the Wiz Kidz to overcome the Cavs.
The Wizards, if they beat the Grizzlies tonight, will be 8-4 through the month of January and 23-18 overall.
In their previous meeting, the Wizards lost 124-118, but Jamison scored a season-high 41 points and Butler followed with 27 and a triple-double in the loss.
The Wizards go into this game with a three-game home win streak.
Can you believe that Butler nor Jamison were not contenders in the All-Star Game's starting lineup? Butler is averaging 21.5 points per game, only a half-point behind starter Dwight Howard, while also leading the league in steals per game.
Antawn on the other hand, is averaging 21.2 ppg, which is more than Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
Jamison is also second in double-doubles and rebounds per game, trailing only Howard in both categories.
Also, Brandon Haywood is in the midst of a career year and is outdoing Shaq in almost every category.
So is it a conspiracy against the Wiz Kidz? You decide.
All in all, expect to see the Wizards come out fighting and the Grizzlies come out defending.
Tonight we learn who has more stamina, speed, agility, and power: A Wizard or a Grizzly?
