Cleveland Browns Head Coach Romeo Crennel Not The Coach Fans Wanted
They say that a team takes on the demeanor of their coach. I find this to be true in the case of the 2008 Cleveland Browns.
With the exception of Kellen Winslow, I don't see any emotion in this team, on the field, or the sideline.
I wish that just once Romeo would flip out at a dropped pass, or any one of the countless false starts that seem to stall promising drives week in, and week out.
To not even acknowledge players bonehead plays, to me says, that it is acceptable, And that is how this team plays.
Is it possible that Bill Belichick would just sit back and watch Derrek Anderson put out mediocre performances week after week, while he has a number 1 draft pick backing him up?
I think his track record speaks for itself. Two players come to mind, Bernie Kosar and Drew Bledsoe.
Kosar, one of the most loved players in Cleveland sports history, was benched in favor of Vinnie Testaverde, and I think we all know how the quarterback situation turned out in New England.
Cleveland thought they were getting a Parcells and Belichick disciple, but the fact of the matter is Crennel is nothing like them.
He lacks the emotion needed to fire up his team on Sundays, and the courage to make a move to better this football team.
