The English Premier League champions Manchester United are setting out their stall for next season and after the signings of Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers for £16.5 million and Ashley Young from Aston Villa for £20 million, they look to have become an even stronger squad than the that won the title this past season.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a master at rebuilding squads and has done so countless number of times. Just when rivals think that the Red Devils cannot get any stronger, they sign a player or two and re-invent themselves into a more formidable outfit.
With the European transfer window now well and truly open, United will dive in once again. Fans that were worried that Ferguson's spending would be shackled by the Glazers have been proved wrong.
The manager seems to have the full support of the owners and the money to back it up.
With more spending power, United look toward another domestic season, but Ferguson's eyes will be on that Champions League trophy that he so wishes to get his hands on again.

ESPN soccernet.com are reporting that Manchester United are one of three English clubs that want to sign Argentine star midfielder Javier Pastore.
Sir Alex Ferguson has made no secret that he wishes to sign a scoring midfielder to replace Paul Scholes, who retired at the end of last season. Pastore who scored 11 goals from midfield last season for his Italian club Palermo would certainly fit the bill.
Pastore, who is currently representing his country Argentina at the Copa America, look almost certain to be leaving Serie A and his club are resigned to the fact that they will lose one of their star performers.
However, if United are to secure Pastore's services, it will not come cheap as his club have indicated that they will not let him leave for anything less £45 million pounds. But if he does sign for United and go on to emulate Scholes, that money well certainly have been well spent.

Manchester United's Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov is being tracked by Italian giants Juventus and the Spanish club Valencia.
Novinite.com has reported that the interest in the unhappy Berbatov from the Old Lady has not faltered and the Italian club are monitoring events. Should United decide to move for Dutch striker Klass Jaan Huntelaar, this would surely spell the end of the Bulgarian's stay at Old Trafford.
He has already seen himself drop in the pecking order behind Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez and the arrival of another top class striker, on a big money move, would surely make him fourth choice. Or maybe even fifth, if Micheal Owen begins to show form.
Valencia are also waiting in the wings and are reportedly making ready a £14 million bid.
Berbatov has publicly made his feelings clear; that being dropped from the Champions League final squad was not a snub and he is happy at United, but that will be tested further in the future and there may be events that will make him unhappy publically. This will surely spell a move out of Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to replace Paul Scholes and has his sights set on Bayern Munich prodigy and midfield enforcer, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
United will have to dig deep as the Bayern ace is tied to a long term contract with the Bavarian giants. This coupled with the extreme resistance that will come from Bayern if United attempt to lure away one of their stars and homegrown talents.
Caughtoffside.com are reporting that United are planning a £30 million bid to tempt Bayern to sell and to spark the player's interesting in leaving the Alliance Arena for the Theatre of Dreams.
Schweinsteiger is seen as a creative midfielder with a tough no nonsense attitude, similar to the player he will replace Paul Scholes. The German's goals from midfield, will be what Ferguson will be after.
The 26 year old is also vastly experienced, with 249 appearances for the German giants as well as 87 appearances for the German national team.
If Ferguson and United are able to convince Bayern to sell one of their prized asset, they will be signing a world class player and one that will make the champions an even more formidable outfit.

Reports from footybunker.com state, that English Premier League champions Manchester United are lining up a £20 million bid for Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
With rumours persisting that Dimitar Berbatov will be leaving this summer, Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking for a top class replacement, and the tall Schalke 04 striker seems to fit the bill.
United's interest in Huntelaar is not new, as they made inquires for the striker while he was at Real Madrid but nothing came of that. This time around, it could be a different prospect, as the Bulgarian Berbatov looks set to leave.
Huntelaar came to prominence while at PSV Eindhoven and Ajax where he was prolific, but having made the move to bigger clubs such as Real Madrid and AC Milan, the big dutch striker found the going tougher.
Ferguson will be hoping that Huntelaar can emulate the last dutch striker he signed, Ruud van Nistelrooy, if he does then any price would be a bargain.
