Blackburn are in the midst of trying to turn around their club after a season in the lower that never should have spiraled out of control the way it did. After the sacking of Sam Alardyce, it seemed to be a sinking ship for weeks as the club plummeted into a relegation battle they never should have been in.
Steve Keane was then appointed manager and a last ditch effort in the closing months and then the closing fixture of the season luckily thwarted off relegation, but only did little to hide the problems with the club under Venky's, as the era of Jack Walker is truly over.
The future can only look bright if the new owners can rebuild the club from the ground up like Walker did in the past. They need to build a squad of solid players and professionals before they splash out million upon millions.
What is needed is good players, mainly strikers and up front to begin with, and then next window or season add a few more solid players.
It appears that those ideas could be in the mindset for them this close season as the rumors are suggesting some quality modest priced talent might be coming their way. The fee paid from Manchester United to Rovers for the services of Phil Jones could potentially land two or three players or more that Blackburn desperately need to start pushing back up the table.
With all that in mind, here are the rumors that have been circulating for rovers over the past week.

Today's reports in both the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail have suggested that Blackburn Rovers are wanting to add 26 year old Spanish midfielder Fernando Marques to their midfield.
The Spaniard spent time on-loan with Parma last season from Espanyol, and could be on his way out of the Barcelona based club is the right offer come in.
At his age he is looking for more chances, and it is possible a move to Rovers could revitalize his career that has stagnated in Spain.

Blackburn Rovers are looking to fill the gap in their future defense after the sale of Phil Jones to Manchester United. With a transfer kitty fueled by that deal, they now appear to be looking at the city of Manchester for their replacement, though he is across town in sky blue.
The Daily Mail reports that a bid of £6.5million could be tabled for the Citizens 24 year old defender Nedum Onuoha. A successful loan spell to Sunderland last season has given his stock a rise, and with Steve Bruce reportedly looking to make his more to the Stadium of light permanent, Blackburn could be set to hijack the Black Cats plans.

With Blackburn making a flurry of inquiries about late prime strikers, it seems only appropriate that Craig Bellamy join the ranges of Robbie Keane, Roque Santa Cruz, and Luis Fabiano.
The Welshman has sparked interest since his June announcement that he wanted out of Manchester City, and the interest has been pouring in from all around England.
If Blackburn want their man, they will have to fend off or outbid the likes of Stoke City, Everton, and Sunderland.

Following the rumors of Robbie Keane also have been the whisperings of Blackburn signing former Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano from Sao Paolo. The Brazilian made waves at the 2009 Confederations cup and was key in his country's come from behind victory over the United States.
However, he was sold back to his homeland last season, and an injury plagued season has seen him now possibly to be on the move again as Steve Keane could make a move in the range of 6million to bring the player to Ewood Park according to both the Mirror and the Daily Mail.

Few Irish nationals inspire more national pride than Robbie Keane. The Irishman has scored 51 goals in 108 games for his country and has scored another 210 during his career that has seen him spend time all over the place.
A recent article by Bleacher Report's very own Willie Gannon said more than most could say to prove how great of a player Keane truly is, despite being in many right places at the wrong time.
Most recently he went on loan from Tottenham, a club that at one time idolized the legend, to West Ham in hopes of regaining some playing time and some life for his career. The deal would have been made permanent if the Hammers had avoided the drop. But, alas, Keane is once again left in limbo.
He truly is not going to see the time he deserves under Harry Redknapp, but it is true that the initial £2million bid for him reported by the Daily Mail really isn't enough, even with him being out of the limelight, Keane is a quality striker when given the chance to be one.
A renewed offer, however, could be in the cards according to the Telegraph. It will most likely need to be in the range of £6million.

The obvious need for a quality attack has been no secret for Blackburn. With Rovers on the lookout for a fresh few faces upfront it is only interesting to see them return to something that worked before.
Roque Santa Cruz scored 29 goals in his first 70 appearances for Rovers between 2007 and 2009. His then major move to Manchester City has now seemed a complete and utter failure as he returned to Rovers on loan for nine games last season.
He was rumored to be headed back in the early parts of June by Goal.com, but he has not been mentioned much lately, but is it still possible that a permanent return could happen? In my opinion it is still possibly on, and while I think they could possible find a better solution, the Paraguayan International could make a fresh impression, after a struggle to regain form on-loan, as he is in South American kicking off Paraguay's Copa America Campaign.

After having a successful loan period at Blackburn Rovers the club has shown interest in retaining the services of the American midfielder full time. He had been previously out of the country during the United States run to the Gold Cup Final in which they lost to Mexico.
However, it appears to get him it will have to be a signed, sealed and delivered transfer as reports from the Daily Mirror recently suggested the efforts to retain him for a second loan period will not work for Germany's Schalke 04.
Jones was a key component for new Manager Steve Keane's midfield, and the United States National Team Member could be a great full time addition for the purposes of rebuilding the squad over time.
