Official: Former Arsenal Striker Jeremie Aliadiere Joins Lorient FC
Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere has joined French outfit Lorient FC as a free agent after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recommended the Frenchman to Les Merlus. The forward joined Arsenal as a 16 year old and made 29 Premier League appearances for the Gunners' achieving an EPL winners' medal in 2003/2004 thus being part of the notorious Invincibles.
However after being released by Middlesbrough in 2010, the Frenchman struggled to find a club and returned to Arsenal in March 2011 in a bid to regain fitness and skill levels. The 28-year-old began work with the Arsenal reserves in a bid to attract interest from other clubs.
Wenger than utilized Arsenal's strong relationship with Lorient FC and recommended the striker. An immensely talented prospect whose career has been tainted by injury, Aliadiere was named the Carling Cup's best young player in 2003/2004.
