Jose Enrique Expected to Sign for Either Arsenal or Liverpool
Arsenal are set to intensify their chase of Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique in order to fill the void left by Gael Clichy. However Liverpool, who were immensely linked with a move for Clichy, will also turn their attention to the Spaniard, who is destined to depart the Magpies.
The 25-yea-old is also entering the final year of his contract and with an inability to resign, manager Alan Pardew is set to be forced to sell. Enrique is set to command up to £8 million after a stellar season with Newcastle.
The Spaniard was a consistent presence at left back amassing 36 appearances. It is believed Enrique desires a move to the Emirates due to the Gunners' ability to offer UEFA Champions League football but would not rule out a move to Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Kenny Daglish is eager to acquire a quality left back due to a distinct lack of depth on the left flank. The Sun has more.
