Tottenham Eager to Secure Leandro Damiao with Internacional Willing to Sell
Highly rated Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao is a prime target for Tottenham after Internacional announced they will sell the 21-year-old. Touted as one of the best young forwards in Brazil, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is eager to secure the Internacional forward as the Englishman aims to implement changes into his attack, with Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe are all likely to depart White Hart Lane.
Damiao is an imposing quick striker who emerged on the World Football scene last season. Boasting 30 appearances and nine goals for Internacional, the young gun was rewarded with a call up to the Brazil national team in March 2011.
Barcelona were rumoured to be eager to secure Damiao but their attention has subsided increasing the likelihood of Redknapp signing the promising forward. However it is unclear how much the London giants will be forced to spend to acquire Leandro Damiao.
