Gael Clichy Undergoes Medical at Manchester City with £7 Million Deal Imminent
Arsenal left back Gael Clichy has undergone a medical at Manchester City with Roberto Mancini's £7 million bid set to be accepted by the Gunners'. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been forced to sell the Frenchman due to Clichy entering his final contracted season and refusing to extend the contract.
The 25-year-old has grown frustrated with the lack of silverware success at the Gunners' and has been heavily linked with the likes of AS Roma, Liverpool and Juventus. However City are set to secure the France international with the deal set to be finalized in the coming days.
Clichy is the last remaining member of the Gunners' notorious Invinciblez squad at Arsenal alongside boasting the longest serving player presence too. However the former Cannes left back has endured a distinct diminish in ability and calibre over recent seasons, hurting his reputation.
None the less Wenger is set to turn his attention to Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique as the replacement.
