The 2011 summer transfer window is almost two months old and already there has been a large amount of activity that is commanding mass attention worldwide. Speculation alone is enough to send fans into overdrive as the increased amount of investments in clubs begins to show.
With more than a month left to transpire in the window too, transfers are set to intensify with big money set to be involved. Contract disputes alongside manager changes and numerous other factors are arising and leading to shock moves which just provide more entertainment and thrill for world football fans.
Currently there are thousands of rumours surfacing and there is bound to be debates and arguments but it is all in the hype of the summer transfer window. Bleacher Report covers all the action and drama of world football transfers.

Arsenal are finally on the verge of completing their first Summer signing with the news OSC Lille striker Gervinho is undergoing a medical at the Gunners' training facilities at London Colney. The Daily Telegraph reported that the Ivorian has arrived in London and is set to complete the move in the coming days.
After the headlines were dominated with speculation of key Arsenal players, such as Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie, departing the Emirates. Gervinho's signing will reinstate some assurance and confidence into Arsenal fans.
A tough, quick and efficient striker. The 24-year-old was integral with 34 appearances, fourteen goals and ten assists as French giants Lille achieved their first Ligue 1 trophy in 57 years alongside the Coupe de France.
Many have made comparisons with Gervinho to Inter Milan star Samuel Eto'o and critics believe the Ivory Coast international will thrive in the English Premier League. What is a massive bonus for Arsenal is the Gervinho possessed an immense desire to join the Gunners' and can provide a lacking clinical edge.
Versatile and fast, Gervinho can be utilized all across the front line and as a second striker. With Nicklas Bendtner certain to depart Wenger after stating his intentions to leave months ago, the former Le Mans striker will be an effective replacement.
Expected to cost around £12 million, this is a crucial signing for Wenger, who aims to eradicate a six year trophy drought in 2011/2012.

Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere has joined French outfit Lorient FC as a free agent after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recommended the Frenchman to Les Merlus. The forward joined Arsenal as a 16 year old and made 29 Premier League appearances for the Gunners' achieving an EPL winners' medal in 2003/2004 thus being part of the notorious Invincibles.
However after being released by Middlesbrough in 2010, the Frenchman struggled to find a club and returned to Arsenal in March 2011 in a bid to regain fitness and skill levels. The 28-year-old began work with the Arsenal reserves in a bid to attract interest from other clubs.
Wenger than utilized Arsenal's strong relationship with Lorient FC and recommended the striker. An immensely talented prospect whose career has been tainted by injury, Aliadiere was named the Carling Cup's best young player in 2003/2004.

Newly appointed Chelsea manager Andres Villas-Boas views Real Madrid defender Pepe as his first signing at Stamford Bridge according to the Guardian. The Portuguese defender has been a longstanding, consistent presence in the Spanish giants defence and is considered one of the strongest centre halves in World Football.
An imposing, tough and tenacious defender, the 28-year-old is viewed by Villas-Boas as the ideal defensive signing as the new Chelsea manager aims to shore up the Blues' defensive woes. However Madrid are eager to maintain their Portugal international and could demand up to £15 million for the defender.
Chelsea recently acquired young star David Luiz in January for £25 million and Villas-Boas aims to create a powerful partnership between the duo alongside the ever present Chelsea captain John Terry. Furthermore Chelsea defender Alex could be heading for an exit to make room for Pepe. Birmingham City defender Scott Dann has also been linked with the London giants

Arsenal are set to intensify their chase of Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique in order to fill the void left by Gael Clichy. However Liverpool, who were immensely linked with a move for Clichy, will also turn their attention to the Spaniard, who is destined to depart the Magpies.
The 25-yea-old is also entering the final year of his contract and with an inability to resign, manager Alan Pardew is set to be forced to sell. Enrique is set to command up to £8 million after a stellar season with Newcastle.
The Spaniard was a consistent presence at left back amassing 36 appearances. It is believed Enrique desires a move to the Emirates due to the Gunners' ability to offer UEFA Champions League football but would not rule out a move to Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Kenny Daglish is eager to acquire a quality left back due to a distinct lack of depth on the left flank. The Sun has more.

Arsenal left back Gael Clichy has joined Manchester City for £7 million and will begin pre season training with the Eastland giants. The Frenchman future at the Gunners' came under grave concern after the 25-year-old refused to extend his final year contract at the Emirates, forcing Wenger to offload his veteran left back.
Touted as one of the best left backs in the English Premier League, the France international was frustrated with the lack of success occurring at the Gunners', stating his desire to win things and the uncertainty of Arsenal.
"I joined City because I wanted to win a lot of things, [Last season] started well and we just collapsed at the end of the season after the [Carling Cup] final."
The former Cannes youth spent eight years in North London achieving the Premier League title in 2003/2004 thus being part of the notorious Invincibles squad. However fans had grown frustrated with the distinct lapse in Clichy's form and calibre in recent years. The Frenchman was consistently viewed as a weak point in both defence and attack last season.
None the less Clichy will link up with former Arsenal teammates Kolo Toure, Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Adeabayor, for now.

FootballGossip has hint that Italian giants Juventus are preparing a potentially £42 million bid for highly rated Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Augero. The 23-year-old is one of the most chased strikers in World Football with strong interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City but Juventus could be able to immediately secure the Argentine with such an audacious bid.
A quick, composed and lethal presence, the Argentina international is viewed by Juventus officials as the ideal attacking signing as they attempt a heavy reshuffle of their squad. A number of players are set to be sold in the coming weeks, including Momo Sissoko, Tiago Mendes, Felipe Melo and Luca Toni, with the funds utilized to secure Augero. However Real Madrid remain immensely eager to sign the former Independiente sharp shooter and it is believed the Argentine would prefer a move to the Bernebeu.
None the less many expect Augero to continue his rapid development and emulate similar calibre to countryman Lionel Messi.

Caughtoffside has reported that Manchester United are preparing a £30 million bid for renowned Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has enjoyed a successful Summer so far, acquiring Ashley Young, David De Gea and Phil Jones for over £50 million. The Scot is now set to secure Schweinsteiger to immensely strengthen Manchester United's title challenges for 2011/2012.
The German is considered one of the best midfielders in World Football and many have longed to see the 26-year-old in the English Premier League. With the likes of Michael Carrick and Darron Gibson both set to depart Old Trafford, Ferguson has room to implement changes and views the Germany international as the prime replacement.
It is unclear whether Bayern Munich will accept the offer for their star play maker but at such a price the German giants could be likely before commencing immediate interest in Arsenal's Samir Nasri.

According to FootballGossip, Wigan Athletic are set to permanently sign Bolton keeper Ali Al-Habsi for £4 million after Owen Coyle gave the green light for the Omani international to sign. The 29-year-old enjoyed a stellar season long loan spell with the Latics during 2010/2011 in which Al-Habsi emerged as one of the most reliable and safest goalkeepers in the English Premier League.
Amassing 33 appearances, the former FK Lyn shot stopper became a fan favourite at the DW Stadium and was eager to continue under Roberto Martinez. Bolton boast the renowned keeping presence of Jussi Jaaskelainen which restricted Al-Habsi at the Reebok, despite Coyle viewing a succession between Al-Habsi and Jaaskelainen, the Englishman has agreed to allow Al-Habsi to depart. Coyle does boast the promising presence of young keeper Adam Bogdan which was pivotal in enabling Al-Habsi to depart.
The deal is set to be finalized in the coming days as Wigan Athletic aim to build on their narrow survival of 2010/2011.

FootyLatest has reported that West Ham are willing to allow captain Scott Parker to depart provided a £10 million offer is given. However Aston Villa manager Alex McLiesh has launched a £5 million bid for the Englishman despite the relegated Hammers in desperate need of funds.
Parker enjoyed a stellar campaign despite West Ham enduring a horrific season which as previously mentioned concluded with relegation the Npower Championship. The 30-year-old is viewed as one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League and is in high demand following the Hammers' troubles.
A tireless worker and creative play maker, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and of course Aston Villa have all been linked with moves for the England international but a permanent deal is yet to materialize. Tottenham were the favourites to secure Parker's signature but manager Harry Redknapp was unwilling to pay the £70,000 a week wages.
Aston Villa manager Alex McLiesh has launched his £5 million bid but it is destined to be declined by Sam Allardyce.

Highly rated Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao is a prime target for Tottenham after Internacional announced they will sell the 21-year-old. Touted as one of the best young forwards in Brazil, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is eager to secure the Internacional forward as the Englishman aims to implement changes into his attack, with Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe are all likely to depart White Hart Lane.
Damiao is an imposing quick striker who emerged on the World Football scene last season. Boasting 30 appearances and nine goals for Internacional, the young gun was rewarded with a call up to the Brazil national team in March 2011.
Barcelona were rumoured to be eager to secure Damiao but their attention has subsided increasing the likelihood of Redknapp signing the promising forward. However it is unclear how much the London giants will be forced to spend to acquire Leandro Damiao.

Arsenal left back Gael Clichy has undergone a medical at Manchester City with Roberto Mancini's £7 million bid set to be accepted by the Gunners'. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been forced to sell the Frenchman due to Clichy entering his final contracted season and refusing to extend the contract.
The 25-year-old has grown frustrated with the lack of silverware success at the Gunners' and has been heavily linked with the likes of AS Roma, Liverpool and Juventus. However City are set to secure the France international with the deal set to be finalized in the coming days.
Clichy is the last remaining member of the Gunners' notorious Invinciblez squad at Arsenal alongside boasting the longest serving player presence too. However the former Cannes left back has endured a distinct diminish in ability and calibre over recent seasons, hurting his reputation.
None the less Wenger is set to turn his attention to Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique as the replacement.

The Daily Mail has announced that Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is awaiting to hear if Birmingham City have accepted an improved bid for in demand centre half Scott Dann. Pulis previously lodged a £8 million bid for the Englishman which was subsequently rejected by the Blues.
Birmingham City are destined to lose the 24-year-old after the Blues endured relegation and with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Sunderland and of course Stoke showing strong interest, it is certain to occur shortly. Dann has emerged as one of the most consistent and strongest defenders in the English Premier League and many believe the former Coventry City centre half will become an England international.
Birmingham City are said to desire £12 million for Dann which Tony Pulis is set to have offered but the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal could increase the amount should other defensive targets fail to materialize. None the less, Scott Dann is likely to be spending very little time at Saint Andrews.

Udinese dynamo Alexis Sanchez has emerged as one of the hottest prospects on the transfer market with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea all heavily interested in the Chilean. Barcelona appeared to have all but signed the 22-year-old for an estimated £34 million however Italian outfit Udinese have declared the move uncertain.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is eager to swoop and pounce on Sanchez for £28 million. The diminutive winger enjoyed a strong season with 32 appearances and twelve goals as Udinese qualified for UEFA Champions League football, finishing fourth in the Serie A.
Touted as a future Lionel Messi, the Chile international is destined for big things in World Football and due to his young age, Sanchez is in high demand, with a move likely to materialize shortly. The amount and destination is still unclear.

MirrorFootball have reported that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a £20 million bid for Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing after Liverpool looked certain to secure the Englishman for £18 million. Downing is destined to leave Aston Villa due to aspirations to grace UEFA football and boast a sufficient Premier League title challenge.
Downing enjoyed a stellar 2010/2011 in which the English international was named the Aston Villa Player of the Year. However the arrival of new manager Alex McLiesh and the departure of star winger Ashley Young have also impacted the 26-year-old's decision to leave Villa Park. It was rumoured Villa were willing to allow the former Middlesbrough attacker to transfer to Liverpool provide they pay £18 million.
However Arsenal are set to have a commanding say as Wenger prepares a £20 million bid for the Englishman. Manager Arsene Wenger has an increased transfer budget and is need of potential replacements as a number of star attackers appear to be heading towards the door.
Downing does possess desires to play UEFA Champions League football, a privellege Liverpool cannot offer and it is unclear whether Reds' manager Kenny Daglish will offer an increased bid with Arsenal's presence.
