Klitschko vs Haye: Breakup with Panettierre Hurting Klitschko's Game?

Wladimir Klitschko’s breakup with Hayden Panettiere clearly has him off of his game.

After all, David Haye is really all talk; Klitschko should have won this 12-round fight via knockout in the first half of the match.

Instead, here we are, the fight is over, and Haye is still standing.

In all seriousness, Klitschko has owned this fight. The reason he hasn’t knocked Haye out is that it seems like Haye spent 75 percent of the fight flopping around, trying to earn deductions.

Well, it worked once, Klitschko did have a point deducted that he shouldn’t have, but it didn't matter. Klitschko dominated this fight and will easily win on points should it get that far.

But back to Panettiere, who remembers the 2007 Dallas Cowboys?

They were going good, then Jessica Simpson showed up in her pink Tony Romo jersey, and the season went downhill.

During the playoff bye week, Romo went to Cabo with Simpson, Jason Witten, and his wife. When they got back, the New York Giants beat the Cowboys at home and went on to win the Super Bowl.

While the Giants were stopping the Patriots run at perfection, Terrell Owens was in tears coming to Romo's defense, but the destruction of the talented Cowboys team was well underway.

Following that logic, Klitschko's breakup with Panettiere is a good thing. High profile blondes only bring trouble to the greats.

Pete Sampras' career went downhill as soon as he got involved with Bridgette Wilson, Andre Agassi's career was revived after breaking up with Brooke Shields, and John McEnroe never won a grand slam after getting married to Tatum O'Neal.

Although not blondes, look at Matt Kemp's career before and after he was with Rihanna. And how many female related thoughts come to mind when the name Tiger Woods is mentioned.

Okay, that's a stretch, there were certainly factors that had nothing to do with women that attributed to all of those.

In truth, if the athlete lets the significant other become a distraction, then they weren't that great to begin with.

Klitschko did what he needed to do and beat Haye. Being with Panettiere didn't hurt him, neither did the breakup.
