Versus Tour de France 2011 Schedule For Sunday, July 10th

Versus: 8:00 AM Eastern Time

Stage nine will take place on Sunday, July 10th and will again be aired live on Versus. Thor Hushovd has held the yellow jersey since the completion of the second stage and has done a tremendous job of staying with the pack especially in the eighth stage.

Many expected Hushovd to lose the yellow jersey to Cadel Evans or one of the Schleck brothers after the eighth stage, as the stage did not suit his style. However, he stayed with the Peloton and held the lead.

Rui Costa rode a terrific race with the breakaways and held on late to claim victory just twelve seconds ahead of Philippe Gilbert, the stage one winner.

It is only going to get more difficult for Hushovd to hang onto the yellow jersey as the mountains and more difficult stages approach.
