Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham admitted two days ago, on June 28th, according to the Mirror, that the team needs new faces.
While the Potters continue to improve season after season, it will be crucial of Tony Pulis to once again make more shrewd choices in the transfer market.
The latest news over the past few days has the Potters looking to strengthen at both ends of the pitch as they chase both attackers and a highly tracked defender to increase their squads quality for another run at the top in search of a UEFA Europa League berth.

Birmingham City have been looking at the possibility of offloading young defender Scott Dann all transfer season, and it looks like Stoke City are still in the hunt. However, news from the middle of the week put worth the possibility ot the Britannia club making a larger bid that would include the likes of Dann and teammate Cameron Jerome both moving to the Potters.
The move is estimated to be worth somewhere around £16million, with it being split £12 for Dann and £4 for Jerome. Jerome had some interest from Stoke City earlier in the season but nothing materialized in the end.
This move could provide a better priced option upfront for the Potters as the wage bill for Carlton Cole would almost certainly be higher. With the Addition of Dann to the line-up, there would be another young squad member to add to an already strong pairing of Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross.
If this did not workout, the combined transfers of Carlton Cole and Matt Mills might be their best secondary option.

DJ Campbell bagged 13 goals for Blackpool last season in a great year for the striker. His stock in the English game was sure to rise after such a great season despite the Seasiders suffering the drop back to the Championship.
Stoke City are one of four clubs according to the Mirror that are chasing the signature of the up and coming front man after he had a successful season.
He will be looking to return to the Premier League and I estimate his cost could be in the £1million range based on his past history, potential move and his release clause with Blackpool. He will in no way demand the inflated figure that his skipper Charlie Adam is at the moment.

The Daily Mail posted Thursday night that Leicester City had a £4million offer accepted by Reading for defender and Skipper Matt Mills.
However, he is in a tight struggle for the signature of the 24 year old as Tony Pulis and Stoke City also submitted a bid this week. The Stoke offer is believed to be in the £3.5million range, but the bonus would be life and times in the English Premier League vs. life in the Championship League with Leicester.

Stoke City have started the bidding for West Ham's Carlton Cole with an opening offer of £3million plus additional incentives yet to be known according to the Mirror.
The valuation of player is believed to be to low by West Ham United's new Manager Sam Allardyce, but he could have his hand forced due to the financial implications of the club being relegated from the English Premier League.
Cole has been followed by many clubs in recent transfer windows but is still yet to make an exit from Upton Park. However, the lacking of Premier League Football may finally move him from the London Club.
