WWE Money in the Bank 2011: My Predicted Card
CM Punk has fueled interest in the WWE again. As Money in the Bank approaches, I thought of writing my own match card. Some of these may not happen, while some might.
But whatever matches do happen; I feel that this is going to be a great PPV. This particular PPV has an intrigue to it that the PPVs of the Attitude Era had. Kudos to WWE and CM Punk for doing what they did.
The John Cena–CM Punk angle seems to be heading in the right track, which is really good. But there are a few other aspects that the WWE should focus on, like Alberto Del Rio and Wade Barrett, for example.
So let's see the matches on offer.
RAW Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Evan Bourne vs. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Alex Riley vs. Jack Swagger vs. R-Truth vs. Alberto Del Rio
This match promises to be really good, having three really good high-flyers in the match. I expect Kofi and Bourne to provide the excitement here.
I half-expected Miz to take on A-Ry but including them on this match means only one thing; Del Rio is going to win. There seems to be no other logical winner.
My Pick: Alberto Del Rio
SmackDown Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett vs. Sin Cara vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus vs. Mark Henry vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Jinder Mahal
Again, there seems to be no other winner than Cody Rhodes. I expect Sheamus to be heavily involved in the match.
Sin Cara will obviously provide the thrills in this match and Daniel Bryan will also put in a solid performance. I feel that the RAW match will be better than the SmackDown match.
My Pick: Cody Rhodes
US Title: Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre
Dolph Ziggler vs. Drew McIntyre
Although this match is highly unlikely, considering the fact that both Ziggler and McIntyre are heels, I still feel that there is a possibility that the match might happen.
Given that Ziggler is one of the best workers and McIntyre is no slouch himself, I expect this to be a solid mid-card match.
Although I would like McIntyre to get the belt, Ziggler has to win to give some credibility to the US Title.
My Pick: Dolph Ziggler
IC Title: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Johnny Curtis
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Johnny Curtis
Since I put Wade Barrett in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, I wanted to go with someone different, so I chose Johnny Curtis.
Hey, Johnny did win NXT Season 4 so he does actually have a title shot. And now that R-Truth is on RAW, I don’t expect Johnny to challenge for the tag titles.
This and the divas match will definitely be the filler matches. So I expect this one to be short. I’m gonna have to go with the champ on this one.
My Pick: Ezekiel Jackson
Divas Title: Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella
Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella
I really have nothing to say on this match other than that it will end within five minutes. If booked properly this would actually be an OK match. But creative isn’t going to do that. I expect Kelly Kelly to win.
My Pick: Kelly Kelly
Tag Team Titles: The New Nexus vs. the Usos
The Usos are a really exciting team to watch, as they have shown the in the past weeks. The New Nexus are a curious case as I really don’t know what will happen to them if Punk leaves.
This should be a decent match with some good spots. I don’t see the titles changing hands so soon.
My Pick: The New Nexus
WWE Championship: John Cena vs CM Punk
This is definitely the most exciting and intriguing match of the entire PPV and it should. With all the attention that this particular match has got I’m really curious as how to this one play out. There are dozens of possibilities on this match.
I really feel this will take the honor of Match of the Night. With Punk being my personal favorite it is tough for me to decide the winner. Taking all the possible situations into consideration I’m going to go with Punk winning with interference from the New Nexus.
John Cena has already been fired once, so I see him getting fired again. This will give Cena the chance to recuperate from all his injuries.
My Pick: CM Punk
World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Christian
This promises to be another great match between these two veterans. This will be a fast-paced encounter with lots of near-falls. Unlike the finish at Capitol Punishment which was confusing, I think that the finish will be a clean one.
Two moves to look out for are the Spear and the Angle Slam. My heart says Christian but my head says Orton. It is really difficult to pick a winner but I have to pick one. So, I’m going with my heart.
My Pick: Christian
So there you have it, that’s how my PPV looks like. As always, all your comments are welcome. And maybe even become a fan.
