Are you ready for some grueling hill climbs? I'm not, but I am ready to watch others do it.

The 2011 Tour De France is upon us. This is the 98th edition of this grand race, and it takes place exactly 100 years after the first Tour.

The race covers 3,430.5 km (2132 miles) over the course of 21 stages, and it gives the riders only 24 days to cover the distance.

Recently, the course has been taking riders to Britain and the Netherlands, but this year, riders will be asked to cross France's borders only once during the Italian Alpine stop of Pinerolo in Stage 17.

Spain's Alberto Contador will set out to win his third consecutive Tour at 8 a.m. EST on July 2nd. Once the action starts, it is going to come fast and furious.

We'll be frequently updating this blog from now until the conclusion of the race. Check back often for all updates, news and interesting stories.
