Serena Williams will not be winning her third straight Wimbledon title this year. Marion Bartoli saw to that on Monday, defeating Williams 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) to knock her out of Wimbledon in the fourth round.

Such a fate was probably not what Williams had envisioned. However, that she bowed out in the fourth round is not all that surprising. As we all know, Williams missed nearly a full year of action due to a series of rather serious injuries, and she came into this year's Wimbledon tournament with minimal practice. It is going to take some time for her to recapture her old dominance.

One person that doesn't have to worry about recapturing dominance is Manny Pacquiao. He hasn't lost a fight since 2005, and he holds seemingly every championship belt boxing has to offer. Next up is a third bout with Juan Manuel Marquez in November. After that, Pacquiao might just go up against a certain undefeated challenger.

Elsewhere in the sports world, Ron Artest continues to grab headlines with his sudden and bizarre plan to change his name to "Metta World Peace." The Los Angeles Lakers forward came to the decision at some point in the past week, and he doesn't seem to be in a hurry to change his mind.

It's a busy day around the world of sports. To stay up to date on all the latest, all you have to do is keep it here and wait for updates.
