Donovan McNabb may be older, but let me tell you this: He's got something left.
And let me tell you something else: There's not that many great QBs in the NFL.
There are several teams out there that could use a QB like McNabb. Those teams don't include the Arizona Cardinals; even though McNabb lives in Phoenix, the Cardinals have made it apparent they aren't interested in him.
Here are five teams who should be though.
The Niners have the tools to win now—they've got a very good defense and a great running game with Frank Gore.
They also have some very good young receivers in Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis, to whom McNabb would love to throw.
This would do two things for San Fran. First, it would give them a chance to get back to the playoffs this season, and two, it would give Colin Kaepernick a chance to learn from one of the better quarterbacks of the last decade.
What's not to like?
And surely to goodness he's better than Alex Smith...
I know many people think Christian Ponder is ready for the NFL.
I'm not one of them.
He could use a year for some seasoning, and Minnesota has a chance to be really good if they just have some good quarterback play.
McNabb could do just that for one year.
Chad Henne isn't as bad as people think—honestly.
But obviously the organization isn't comfortable with him.
One thing McNabb never had in Philly was a good running game; he'd probably get that in Miami.
McNabb would be in a similar situation as he was in Washington with a tough division, but what does Miami have to lose by getting him?
Yes, the Titans took Jake Locker with their first-round pick.
But after that?
Their list of QBs is thin (i.e. Rusty Smith).
McNabb would make a great backup if nothing else.
