Roger Federer Destroys David Nalbandian in Third Round
Roger Federer is blowing through the field in such a resounding fashion, his competitors have to be concerned. Federer has mastered the art of playing on a grass surface, as his six Wimbledon tournament championships are evidence of.
Federer is playing so well, he could tie Pete Sampras' record of seven Wimbledon championships. He's got the experience at Wimbledon, and he isn't far removed from the incredible streak of winning it all five straight times.
Federer is faced with fierce competition later in the tournament. Novac Djokavic is trying to establish himself as the No. 1 tennis player in the world, and will likely need to win Wimbledon to do so.
Andy Murray is playing incredibly well, and could be on his way to patenting his between-the-legs shot.
Of course, there is always Rafael Nadal, who has won this tournament two of the last three times. The master of clay has unraveled the secrets of grass, and has to be viewed as dangerous, regardless of what surface the match is being played on.
Even so, Federer's third-round 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 victory over David Nalbandian shows he is in it to win it again this year. Slaughtering opponents who are supposed to provide competition is a great way to show his rivals that this is still his tournament.
