Tottenham Intensify Chase of Gary Cahill but Offering Four Stars to Bolton
Tottenham have sent a huge statement of intent by offering Sebastien Bassong, Jermaine Jenas, Robbie Keane and Alan Hutton for the service of highly rated Bolton defender Gary Cahill. The Englishman has become one of the strongest, respected and consistent centre halves in the English Premier League and is currently a prime target for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and of course Tottenham.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has stated that clubs will have to produce serious money to secure the 25 year old, ranging between £14-17 million. Cahill is touted as a future England captain and has been more than impressive since joining the Trotters in 2008. The former Aston Villa defender has since acquired three national caps for England.
Tottenham are in desperate need of quality defensive reinforcements with manager Harry Redknapp also eager to offload a number of players from his compacted squad. Striker Robbie Keane was destined to depart after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane whilst midfielder Jermaine Jenas was enduring a tough time acquiring consistent football in London. Sebastien Bassong and right back Alan Hutton are viewed as temptations in the deal for Bolton.
