2011 NBA Draft: Jan Vesely Puts on a Show at the NBA Draft
Jan Vesely certainly made quite an impression last night at the NBA Draft. After he was drafted by the Wizards at No.6 overall, he planted a long kiss on his girlfriend and gave ESPN's Mark Jones a brilliant one-liner about his NBA-comparsion. Washington, D.C.'s SB Nation talked about this today.
In-between, Vesely did a live interview for ESPN, and was asked about how he was dubbed the "European Blake Griffin" for his athleticism and his dunks. Vesely decided to turn it around on ESPN's Mark Jones, who asked the question.
"I don't know," he said. "I think Blake Griffin is the American Jan Vesely."
Well, Mr. Vesely, welcome to the NBA. It's obvious when you watch Jan Vesely's Youtube videos that this guy is supremely athletic and an impressive offensive weapon. But he just called out the sensation of 2010, Blake Griffin.
Griffin's dunk victims probably should've informed Vesely of Griffin's knack of embarrassing NBA big men.
I think Vesely could be a deadly pairing with Washington's John Wall, but he better be careful. He could end up like this guy next season.
