Preds Vs. Caps, Ellis Over-Rated?

Nashville went into this game with one thing making them happy, Ovechkin won't be playing. It relaxed them, it made them cocky and now we know that this isn't a good state of mind for our team to be in! They let Washington out - play them and don't be fooled, getting three goals doesn't mean the Preds ruled. It's actually the exact opposite!

When you get three goals, you let yourself get sloppy, thinking that you'll be able to hold them off and that's what caused this loss. We should have tryed harder to make it 2 - 1 but instead, we thought they were nothing without Ovie but Washington definitely rid them of that opinion. Espiecally when Semin (who was clearly under - estimated!) scored two goals without breaking a sweat!

Now don't get the opinion that the Preds were totally lifeless as Jason Arnott got two more goals, Ville Koistenen got his first and J.P. added two more to the assist column.

We fought, but not nearly as hard as we should of and it shows that this team isn't ready for Eastern teams as most of the others play a very fast style and they'll flames us just like the Caps! So training hard for these next 12 Eastern Conference opponents is definite and a good way to train will to face these hard nosed Oilers!

So before I give my grades out and wrap this puppy up, I want to say something about Dan Ellis. Dan has been cold as ice in the last few games and I know why. GM Poile and Coach Trotz needed a replacement for Vokoun, they wanted one now and wanted to get one from the free agency market. Then they go and grab someone with no good stats and a history as a backup and force feed him to us! Dan at 38 should be backing Mason up not starting and that's why he's not so impressive!

Now that, that little message was off my chest, time for my grades!

A: Jason Arnott, J.P. Dumont, Martin Erat

B: Ville Koistenen, Patric Hornqvist, Jerred Smithson, David Legwand

So good night folks, I'll see ya'll soon!
