Real Madrid FC have already shown their intent in the summer with the signings of Hamit Altintop, Jose Callejon and Nuri Sahin, and with Jorge Valdano no longer a part of the Madrid hierarchy, Jose Mourinho is in control of the transfers, along with Zinedine Zidane, who has helped him in identifying targets.
Though Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey last season, Mourinho is certainly not going to be pleased with the 2010-11 season.
Mourinho has insisted that the second season at a club should produce better results than the first because it does take time to build a team and its style. He proved that he can deliver at Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan, but Real Madrid is the biggest club he has managed and he will be under huge pressure to deliver the right results.
Real Madrid do have strong finances and are capable of spending big in the transfer window in the summer and will be keen to add some more quality to their squad.
Also, a few players are certain to leave the club due to limited opportunities at the club.

According to Marca, Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Brazilian striker Neymar and he will be signing a six year contract with the Los Blancos. However, Real Madrid have still not reached an agreement with Santos, who are in principle demanding that the club pay the €45 million release clause in the striker's contract.
Neymar has been regarded as one of the best talents in the world and there are a number of clubs which have been linked with him. However, Santos will be reluctant to sell the player below €45 million as they rate the player to be special. Real Madrid already have a talented squad with plenty of attacking options including the likes of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain.
If Neymar also signs for Madrid, it is possible that one of the two prolific strikers will consider a move away from Madrid and there will be a number of clubs interested in securing the services of the strikers. Also according to Marca, the possibility of signing Kun Aguero is still not ruled out even if Neymar signs for the club but it will certainly mean that one of the strikers will move.

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United could target Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria after the Argentina International publicly stated that he wanted an improved contract at Real Madrid. Manchester United made efforts to sign him last summer before Di Maria moved to the Santiago Bernabeu. With Real Madrid also interested in Neymar, they could let Di Maria leave if they secure the services of the Brazilian International.
However, it is baffling as to why Manchester United would target another winger, though Di Maria can provide a lot of quality on the flanks. The Red Devils already have the likes of Antonio Valencia, Nani and Ryan Giggs and also, they have completed the signing of the versatile Ashley Young.
Also, Di Maria has been a regular under Jose Mourinho and has been involved in almost every important game for Real Madrid and it would be a surprise if Mourinho does allow Di Maria to leave and also, Madrid have absolutely no necessity to sell their players due to strong finances. There is a strong possibility that this rumor of Angel di Maria to Manchester United will not be true in this summer.
According to Marca, Real Madrid are close to finalizing their fourth signing of the season after Jose Callejon, Hamit Altintop and Nuri Sahin and youngster Rafael Varane is likely to sign for Real Madrid after the Spanish club agreed a deal in principle with Lens. The defender had also been tracked by Manchester United but has preferred to play for Real Madrid, for whom Zinedine Zidane is currently an advisor.
Varane is likely to cost around €10 million Euros and according to Marca, there is only personal terms to be agreed with the player, which should be completed soon. Varane will be a good addition to Real Madrid, who have a number of promising players in their squad. Though Real Madrid have experienced defenders like Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe, Varane will provide depth to the squad and if he progresses well at the Santiago Bernabeu, he could be a potential replacement for Carvalho in the future.
According to ESPNSoccernet, Lens president Gervais Martel has confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid in the next season. He said "He'll play for Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho's guidance. He has already met him, as well as meeting Zinedine Zidane.Raphael is an exceptional boy. I'm proud that he'll be wearing the Real colours. They have been following him for the last two months and we let him visit the club. He said he couldn't turn down the opportunity."
The President insisted that the decision was not about the money and that it was only a football decision which influenced Varane to join Madrid. "The decision is not about money. I have to think about his career plans. He will be joining a club with a great sporting project. I'm sure he will find his way at the club."

According to Tribalfootball.com, Real Madrid manager is keen to set up a swap deal involving Sergio Ramos and Inter Milan's Maicon, which depends on the new manager to be appointed by Inter Milan. Maicon had previously played under Mourinho for Inter Milan and was integral to the team, which won the treble and also beat FC Barcelona in the Champions League Semi-Finals.
Sergio Ramos is apparently not happy with his current wages and has asked for a major pay-rise to stay at Madrid. However, Mourinho could take advantage of this situation and could offer the Spanish International to Inter Milan in return for Maicon.
Maicon did not have a good season this year but Mourinho shares a good relationship with the Brazilian and can bring the best out of him. However, Ramos is one of the world's best defenders in his position and his versatility is also important for this Madrid side. He is still young and has many more years at the top level, which is why Madrid could be interested to tie him down to a new contract.

According to Tribalfootball.com, Chelsea will face competition from Real Madrid for Porto striker Radamel Falcao, who played a vital role in Porto's success in the Portuguese League and also the Europa League. Agent Claudio Mossi suggested that a move to Chelsea under Andre Villas Boas was probable but the striker took to twitter to distance himself from the statements by the agent.
He also clarified that his agent was Jorge Mendes, who is also the representative of Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho. According to the A Bola, Chelsea remain keen on the centre forward but will have to compete with Madrid, who are also in the market for a new centre forward.
However, Falcao has a close relationship with Andre Villas Boas and there is a good possibility that he will persuade the Colombian striker to follow him to Chelsea.
