Tonight is the night, the 2011 NBA draft is here. The New York Knicks have the 17th pick tonight, with many speculating that they'll take Chris Singleton out of Florida State, Kenneth Faried out of Morehead State, Klay Thompson out of Washington State, or maybe even Jimmer Fredette from BYU.
Anything can happen on draft night.
There have been many rumors linking players like Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Lamar Odom, Andre Iguodala, and Monta Ellis to deals that could happen tonight. Tonight should be exciting, and we can expect many things to happen.
I had an idea for a move that hasn't been proposed yet.
Could the Knicks possibly move Chauncey Billups and Tony Douglas to move into the top ten?
If this happens, the Knicks would probably swap picks with either the Sacremento Kings or the Detroit Pistons. I think Billups would find it very intriguing to return to Detroit, where he did many great things, including winning a title. Toney Douglas would be a great addition to any team coming off the bench, but obviously the big prize would be Billups.
If this does happen, the Knicks would have a great chance of adding Kemba Walker or Jimmer Fredette to the team. Therefore, either one of them would become the point guard of the future for the Knicks, which could eventually lead to Dwight Howard coming to the Big Apple in 2012.
Let's be honest, this is a long shot, but I wouldn't count it out.
I don't know about you guys, but I would love to see Kemba Walker playing at the Garden.
