While most of the Liverpool players are enjoying a well-deserved summer holiday, Damien Comolli and his staff are probably putting in more hours now than at any other time in the year.
This is their busy period, and the work going on in the background to ensure that the manager, Kenny Dalglish, has the players he wants in his squad come the start of the new season is vital to the club's aspirations for the future.
So another day, and Comolli and his team take another step closer to tying down the signatures of their intended summer transfer targets. But all is not going to be smooth sailing, as they face a fight over a number of the players they are chasing.
With players coming back to begin preseason training in the coming weeks, Dalglish will want to bring in and integrate his new signing into the squad as soon as possible. Coaches Sammy Lee and Steve Clarke will also want to start initiating them into their training programmes and "the Liverpool" as soon as possible, too.
