Patriots 23, Rams 16

Matt Cassell really stepped up these last two games and is showing some maturity as he develops throughout the season. Cassell was 21/33 with 267 yards and a touchdown despite throwing two interceptions. Cassell found a target in Randy Moss who had 102 yards receiving on seven catches.

Cassell made a touchdown pass to running back Kevin Faulk. Faulk had four receptions for 47 yards and the touchdown along with 60 rushing yards on 18 carries.

The Rams started to show some promise after two wins under new head coach Jim Haslett but came up short. Marc Bulger had 301 yards passing that included a 69-yard touchdown pass to Donnie Avery who had 163 yards receiving on six catches.

The Rams lost moving them to 2-5, but they are still not dead yet in the NFC West.
