1. Cleveland Cavaliers
The consensus number one pick, Kyrie Irving, in the 2011 NBA Draft is also the favorite for number one in this Mock NBA Draft as well.
Kyrie Irving has all the tools necessary to succeed at the point guard position in the NBA and is by all definitions, the purest point guard in the sense in this draft.
He can penetrate, he can dish and he’s an intelligent player.
The only possible issue with Irving lies in his foot.
As many in the NBA know, a nagging injury from a player’s college days could lead to a potentially devastating one in the NBA, as is the case with the 2007 NBA Draft’s first overall pick Greg Oden.
So naturally, teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, who hold both the first and fourth picks in this draft are cautious of Irving’s past foot injury.
Irving, however, said in an interview with ESPN, “I don’t feel like there’s anymore questions about my toe or my health.”
So in spite of injury, Irving still seems to have a hold on the number one spot.
